This rod is easily machined for threaded rod, bent to various shapes for jewelry or other forms, soldered or brazed, used in making knives, used for model building and it even shines like gold when polished. (note the two rods were not sent, but the ½ inch rod was substituted.)

These rods are actually 3/8 inch in diameter. I had also ordered some 1/8 rods which I had already reviewed and it guess Amazon got confused. These brass rods are a perfect 3/8 inch. They appear to be laser cut. They seem pretty bright and putting them in my lathe or drill and polishing with1000 grit they will shine bright. Got this to make a small tool for my engraving and these brass rods are always good stock to have on hand for whatever project may turn up.

Wow, I wasnt sure what to expect when I ordered these brass rods, but I was really hoping for some good rods to use for making rivets. I dont know why, but I seem to struggle with finding good quality brass wire for rivet making -- its always so soft that its nearly impossible to form a rivet head without deforming the whole thing. These rods are absolutely perfect for what I need, so Im really happy to have found them! Judging by the feel of the hardness of the 1mm rods, these DO seem like 1/2 hard brass. I wont really know until I actually make a rivet, but Im optimistic, because I cannot easily bend the 1mm rod with very light pressure, which is often the case with almost all the wire I get, which has a soft temper. Overall, these look good -- they dont have a great finish (its OK, but its not jewelry-quality), so whatever youre using them for, expect to do some sanding and polishing if presentation matters. I have no problem with doing my own finishing, especially for the price of these. One final note: pay attention to the length! The 50 piece pack ranging in diameter from 1mm to 8mm has 100mm length rods. These are NOT very long. For me, this is actually ideal, but depending on what you need, it may not be, so keep that in mind.

Great raw material for wirework, jumprings (or normal rings), suncatchers, windchimes, really anything you may want to accent with nice and bright brass, came in a nice little storage box too. One of those items where the use is only limited by your imagination and creativity.

Got this for an upcoming project. The brass is bright and straight. I measured and it is exactly 3/8 of an inch wide and 12 inched long. No significant machining marks will make finishing easier. The cuts on the ends are vert fine grained and need nothing prior to working. Great raw material.

I needed a bit longer brass rod to utilize as a soft punch for a project. The old one I owned was a bit too short. This 12 piece of round stack brass shoild be perfect for my intended use at a price that wont break the bank. It was supplied in a plastic slip on case which I believe I will keep as a storage place for the brass rod. Met all of my expectations!

Good color of the brass. I like the case for storage it is strong and it will protect the brass rod very well. The rods were the right size and amount in which they were advertise. They are pliable and the adhere to the shape you make them . Very fast shipping

I needed these to make shear pins for a small outboard. I really only needed one or two, but the price for one or two was more than this price for 6. Ill find a use for them though.

I’ve started doing some metal work to make items for my various hobbies. I wanted to try turning some brass on my metal lathe so ordered this. A small test turn came out fine for my experience level.
