Corel Painter Essentials 5 Digital Art Suite for PC and Mac (Old Version)

Too complicated

Just got my Corel painter essentials 5, & it will not load on my desktop or my laptop with windows 10.

Had no problem loading it with windows 10. Install code worked just fine. Do not enter the dashes when inputting code.

This software is lightweight but stable and effective. It appears to have two modes, of which I used the simpler one. If you load a photo, there are a set of predefined treatments you can give your photo. I used a few effects to treat selfies for a web site I was making and liked the results.

This product strikes a good middle ground serious art tool and fun. Due to my artistic ineptitude, Im afraid I cant exercise and review it nearly as well as it deserves. But even if you are artistically challenged, as I, theres still a lot of room for fun. There are a wide variety of brushes, textures, and styles to play with, and even if youre really hopeless, the coolest part is that ability to pull in a photo and sic auto-paint on it... you can choose from a bunch of artistic styles and then let it go at it. You see each stroke being rapidly applied, each second bringing slightly more detail. Simply stop the process when it looks the way you want it and then apply a different style, or begin manually touching it up.

Not usable as the serial number included with the software is invalid. Very disappointed.

Ive used both Painter essentials 3 and 4 - number 5 is a good one and fun to use. However, to get the most out of this program, you really need to use a Wacom tablet.

Excellent resource for beginners for use with Wacom Intuos Pro tablet.

Tried this out to compare to Photoshop and for some people this is an acceptable product. However, being an illustrator for the past 25 years Ive grown attached to PS and something really must blow me away to switch and unfortunately this product isnt it even though its a fraction of the price.

I have been using Corel Painter Essentials 5 to turn photos of our family, pets and places of interest around our local community into fun and interesting pieces of art now hanging on our walls (thanks to both PictureItOnCanvas and CanvasPeople... I use whichever service has the best sale going on at any one time).
