My iMac recognized it though it didnt seem to when I put it in the first slot. I put it in the second and left an original 4GB in the first and alls well. Upgraded from 8gb total to 24GB now.

First, I did a LOT of research on upgrading RAM on an iMac Intel 27 Retina 5K (2020,1) <yes, there is a version 2020,1 and the other, 2020,2> .. the Mac is standard with 8Gigs and these models are older inventory, so many Apple resellers are discounting them (no longer available through APPLE) .. I have used another iMac 27 4K (model Late 2013) .. purchased Crucial RAM (32GB Kit - 2x16GB) in the past & worked great.

I upgraded my iMac 27 2017 to 64GB using 2 kits. Working perfectly so far!
