Greater than one weekNot what is pictured. The buckles do not have the neoprene/foam protection that is shown in the photo. Protection on the buckles is really worth something when you toss a buckle and it hits the window or car body. Nothing wrong with these straps but they are not what is pictured in the product ad.

> 3 dayConsider a different material for the buckle instead of metal, had to be careful it didn’t damage the car.

> 3 dayThe straps are definitely reliable once you get them set up. The protective covers over the buckles are a nice touch to avoid scratching the car or boards. But because the covers wrap around both sides of the buckle very snugly, I find it very difficult to get the loose end through the buckle. Giving 3 stars because of that difficulty.

> 3 dayHeavy duty and the mechanism to put the strap thru is well insulated from your board

> 3 dayCombined with the Dakine Aero rack pads, these were exactly what I needed to secure and protect my grandfathers 40 yo Old Town canoe on the roof of my Yukon XL. High quality and they stay where you put them during long road trips.

> 3 daytrying to feed the straps in the buckles is horrible, the neoprene blocks the opening and you can not do it in a timely manner leaving you very frustrated after trying to tie down your boards on top of the vehicle. They also seemed to loosen resulting in possible disaster of your boards flying off into another car on the road!!!!! Poor design. Just get regular tie downs
