I love this tarp. I have been in many situations where waterproof tarps were not truly waterproof. Clearly, this tarp will never let me down. It is a bit heavy for backpacking, but I believe the extra weight is worth it!

Im more of a tent guy, by no means a tarp connoisseur. This is great for me. It doesnt have much of the crunchy sound most tarps do, its pretty thick and seems durable too. Picnic blanket, shelter, tarp for shade, ground tarp, hammock camping, all in one good item. Its not the lightest, but it it suits my needs very well.

So when I contacted them and explained that this has happened twice to tell them their lifetime warranty was not going to involve them sending me a new tarp every time the wind blew and just wanted a more heavy duty tarp they sell, I was told by a gent that there was no one there that could help me and I should just happy that they even gave me a replacement on my first tarp. SO MUCH FOR THE LIFETIME WARRENTY! So because I think their product is good I have chalked it up to a good product with a very questi The tarp was great. I probably bought the wrong one. Was good until first strong wind. Then it tore. They were good for the replacement with photos. Now I need to say I dont live on a mountain top in Alaska so my winds are probably like your winds. ( Pennsylvania ). Safari Tarp. I paid $100 for tarp. The replacement lasted 1 week when the thin tie down straps (2) tore out. R U KIDDING ME ?? Called them and got the,, there is no one here now BS. Called again and must have been blocked because I got zero response. Believe it or not I just ordered another tarp from them much heavier because I think they have a great product but with out a doubt, they need to give a better description of exactly what their products are capable of before advertising them. And drop the ridiculous life time warranty. You wont cover it and you certainly dont need it to sell your quality tarps. PS, I just received the Defender tarp from Amazon as we speak. This is everything I THOUGHT I was getting when I bought the Safari. Nice tarp guys with strong tie downs!!! You better fire your advertising outfit and better describe what the hell your selling before you sell it. Regards M.Plummer USA

I have used this tarp for about 6 months now. I am always impressed by the quality. It doesnt have the metal grommets to rust and fall out over time, but has sewn in nylon tie points - and plenty of them. Reinforced at the ridgeline. It is borderline for backpacking as it weights in at about three pounds. I would definitely recommend. I used it to cover my trucks sunroof (leaks) during a tropical storm and not a drop of water got in and the tarp held up perfectly. I guess you get what you pay for as it is a little pricey!

Came as advertised except in the images the Camo pattern looks as if it is three shades of green and the base is a light color when in actuality it is more of a blue & green. Otherwise the tarp is what I wanted. As for water resistance: there was a heavy thunderstorms (lots of wind and heavy rain for 6+ hours) the first night I used it and had zero issues.

super nice quality, it did well during heavy rain. A few small features I wish would have been included are D rings at the strap ends, and loops at the outside surface to open up some space inside.

They are expensive for a tarp. You get what you pay for. This tarp is the best on the market. The 10x15 is too heavy to backpack with. The 10x10 in the medium or light weight is great for backpacking.

I used the tarp camping. I love how the tarp is very well made and very water proof. I make the tarp into a tent and have never been disappointed in how it has performed.

The manufacturers of all tarps, cut the fabric to the correct size listed, however... after folding over the edge material and stitching the edges, you lose some real estate off the cut size, why do they do this? I dont know, but it is the way it is, and youre just going to have to accept it. I see so many people who think they are getting screwed, but thats not the case. I thought the same thing on my first tarp.
