I wanted a handheld vacuum with a cord instead of a battery, but I was a little concerned that the product description states the cord is 2.5 feet. Thats wrong. The cord is more like 8 feet. Maybe the product description should have indicated the length in meters instead of feet? In any event, this vacuum is perfect for my needs. It is much more powerful that I would have expected, and is so easy to grab whenever I need it, like to clean up little bits of yarn after a crochet project or pieces of canine fur after the dog goes on the couch even though she knows she shouldnt. I would definitely recommend this Dirt Devil.

After wasting so much money over the years buying rechargeable DustBusters, I decided to get a corded one! This is the BEST purchase I could have made. I have 3 huskies and it’s great for the couch crevices and stairs. When I’m feeling lazy, I can suck up all the “husky hair” (the clumps). For me, this is the perfect compliment to my wet/dry vac. Enough about dog hair……. this truly has amazing suction, decent size “dirt cup” (that’s why they call it) and the crevice tool is great for corners. The ONLY thing I wish is that the cord was just a little longer so it would reach all the way up my stairs. There are others that have a longer cord. (I think)

I absolutely LOVE this Dirt Devil hand vac. Its powerful and worth every single penny. After spending a small fortune on cordless hand vacs that barely worked, I decided to go with a corded have vac. DIRT DEVIL is the way to go.

Great for the vehicles. Suction is good, filter is easy to clean, dont have to worry about losing suction as battery goes down like with battery powered tool, or losing power in general with cord.

I always wanted to buy one of these to keep around to vacuum out our cars--and it excels at that job. Our dogs constantly track in dirt and grass, and someone (must be my wife) is constantly eating fried chicken, donuts, and chips in the car. At least that is what the crumbs look like theyre from. If you get a good unit, it works well with strong suction and a nice long cord. If you for some reason get a bad unit, return it immediately. The chances of getting a bad second unit are limited. Of course you can use the Dirt Devil for several other clean-up tasks. You can use it to vacuum up sawdust or filings from your garage projects. You can vacuum up the fried chicken, donuts, and chip crumbs your wife also drops in the garage. Its also a great tool for catching wolf spiders as big as the palm of your hand, the occasional (thank God) cockroach or a wandering wasp. Its great in the home office for vacuuming your computer keyboard and the various food crumbs that my wife drops there. We use it to clean out our African Greys bird cage and also the bird seed she likes to fling outside the cage. And I even use it to vacuum the loose hair off Dante, our 190 pound Cane Corso. The breeder said that Cane Corsos (Italian Mastiff) dont shed, but she told us a bit of a whopper there. If you dont have to groom a dog, it simply sheds. So this Dirt Devil has several uses that allow you to keep up with the various messes that you (or your wife) make around the house or in the car. I always try to beat her to the food crumbs so that she doesnt think that I am the one eating all that forbidden food.

Although I have a Dirt Devil, I was looking for a vacuum that would maneuver more easily in my automobile. This portable vacuum was the perfect solution for my needs. I am able to reach the tighter spaces in my vehicle that I was not able to vacuum with my Dirt Devil. Lightweight and portable make this vacuum a must for keeping my vehicle clean.

I bought it to use on dog hair that accumulates on the stairs. Theres an outlet downstairs located near the bottom of the stairs, and with the addition of a 30 extension cord I can get the stairs in one go without having to stop half way up and plug into a different outlet. The cord length of the appliance is reasonable, I just wanted it longer. It has good suction power and works well for its intended purpose. Measuring the current draw with a P3 Kill-A-Watt meter shower that with 120V line voltage the vacuum pulls 4.97 amps with a clean filter. That drops down to 3.98 if I hold my hand over the air inlet for a few seconds. The amp rating in the add copy is put there by marketing and their number is probably a peak startup current measured when the unit is first switched on. Do bigger numbers sell more units? The vacuum is much better than a cordless vac in duration (naturally) and suction power both. The built in crevice tool is a nice feature that allows me access to much tighter places than it would otherwise be able to reach. So far the crevice tool is holding up well for me. The power switch is fairly easy to operate and stays firmly in position when you release it. The dirt cup and filter are easy to take off, clean, and put back on. Its small size and light weight make using it a breeze. And that brings me to the only down side. I wish it had exhaust air deflectors to direct the air coming out of it to the rear instead of the sides. At times the exhaust air will blow the very dirt and pet hair away from the nozzle one is trying to capture. Especially in small spaces like the stairs. It doesnt get hot, but it does get quite warm after running for a while. Not enough for me to be a concerned or worry about it. This is pretty much par for the course of any corded vacuum cleaner. I got the unit in January 2021 and today is 2021/August/30. Its still going strong after a number of 15-20 minute weekly use cycles.

The Dirt Devil Scorpion Plus Hand Vac delivers continuous corded power with Hand Vac convenience. It gives you long lasting performance so you can tackle the biggest messes. Clean tight spots with the Quick Flip Crevice Tool and take less trips to the trash can with the Easy-Empty Dirt Cup. A long 16-foot power cord gives you the freedom to clean complete car interiors and stairs.
