> 3 daySo, we got a puppy. We had hoped she wouldnt be a big shedder (shes a true pound puppy), but we were very wrong. She also wont housebreak, but thats another story for another review. As soon as I realized that vacuuming the couch was now a daily required task (sigh), I was on the hunt for a handheld vac so I didnt have to lug out my Dyson upright everyday. I didnt want to mess with battery powered - I wanted plug in power! I opened it immediately (bc Im in my mid thirties and excitement looks different these days) and went to work on the couch. It worked like a charm. I did find that using the dust brush worked best on the couch, but without worked best on the chair. Noted. The stairs are next, but I imagine itll work just as well. (Although it may require a plug change in the middle - not sure if the cord will be long enough to make the distance. First world problems.) It also worked great with the extension piece to clean the baseboards. I would love to have seen a place to wrap the cord onto the actual vacuum and on board storage for the dust brush would be convenient, but theyre definitely not deal breakers for me. And at this price point, Ill deal with the minor inconveniences. So, in summation, while we may regret this puppy (I kid... mostly), we certainly dont regret this vacuum purchase. And we will love both for a long time.

02-06-2025Suction power is good and filter easy to clean. Vacuum is heavier than expected, very loud, and cord was too short to reach middle of my stairs from either end.

> 3 dayOne thing I have discovered is it has much more suction power then a cordless one

> 3 dayThe Dirt Devil Scorpion Handheld Vacuum Cleaner is compact and lightweight, making it easy to maneuver. I like how powerful it is for its small size, as it effectively picks up dirt and debris. The corded design ensures consistent suction power, and the red color adds a stylish touch to its appearance.

> 3 dayWhat a great purchase! I am a 67 year old, retired apartment dweller that likes to keep my place clean and I just wasnt happy with the way my regular vacuum cleaned using the accessories, so I purchased the Scorpion. The first day I went crazy around my apartment. I pulled all the furniture to the center of the room and went to sweeping around the baseboards. I had to clean out the dust filter three times just in the living room! This little vacuum has tons of suction and picked up stuff I never knew was there. Then I did all the furniture. I usually drag the shop vac out to sweep the car, but no more. The Scorpion did a great job except the flip down nozzle is a little fat to reach down into some tight spots. That wasnt a big deal though. It sucked up gravel easily. I couldnt find anything wrong with this little vacuum. There were some comments about the odor and smelling hot. Not to worry. I used mine for a total of three hours the first weekend and that smell went away after a short time. I would guess it was just an over abundance of lube on the motor bearings or something. Others complained of the noise. Noise equals power. It isnt THAT bad. The cord is long enough for any job around the house, but not handy for storage. I coil it up and stick it through the handle. What hasnt been stated is that it has a place on the back of the handle so the unit can be hung on a hook. That is pretty handy. I am going to purchase extra filters because I had to dust the first one out several times and rinsed it twice. Snapping in a clean one would save some time when you are into the cleaning mood as I seldom am!! I highly recommend the Scorpion. It came very close to 5 stars!!

> 3 dayJust used it for the first time on my carpeted stairs, which I had vacuumed a week earlier with another vacuum. The dirt cup was almost full—-so much better at picking up dirt than my old vacuum. The filter is rinsable, which is another plus. I had to use a 6 foot extension cord, but that wasn’t a big deal. Overall, this vacuum is a great product for a very reasonable price!

Greater than one weekDang, this thing has some power behind it! I was originally in the market for a cordless model, but after seeing lots a reviews on loss of power and weak batteries, I decided to go for this corded model. I made the right decision! I was honestly pretty surprised by the suction power. I also love the little flip down crevice tool. So convenient. Emptying it is super easy too. Yes you pop out the filter and maybe that gets your hands a little dusty as other reviews mention, but its so simple and there are a pleasant lack of moving parts to it all, so its worth it. Highly recommend. It wouldve been great to come with something to hold the extra accessories, but hey, thats minor in the grand scheme of things.

> 3 dayI always wanted to buy one of these to keep around to vacuum out our cars--and it excels at that job. Our dogs constantly track in dirt and grass, and someone (must be my wife) is constantly eating fried chicken, donuts, and chips in the car. At least that is what the crumbs look like theyre from. If you get a good unit, it works well with strong suction and a nice long cord. If you for some reason get a bad unit, return it immediately. The chances of getting a bad second unit are limited. Of course you can use the Dirt Devil for several other clean-up tasks. You can use it to vacuum up sawdust or filings from your garage projects. You can vacuum up the fried chicken, donuts, and chip crumbs your wife also drops in the garage. Its also a great tool for catching wolf spiders as big as the palm of your hand, the occasional (thank God) cockroach or a wandering wasp. Its great in the home office for vacuuming your computer keyboard and the various food crumbs that my wife drops there. We use it to clean out our African Greys bird cage and also the bird seed she likes to fling outside the cage. And I even use it to vacuum the loose hair off Dante, our 190 pound Cane Corso. The breeder said that Cane Corsos (Italian Mastiff) dont shed, but she told us a bit of a whopper there. If you dont have to groom a dog, it simply sheds. So this Dirt Devil has several uses that allow you to keep up with the various messes that you (or your wife) make around the house or in the car. I always try to beat her to the food crumbs so that she doesnt think that I am the one eating all that forbidden food.
