Discraft 175 gram Ultra Star Sport Disc

Quality frisbee, delivered on time as promised

The Ultra-Star wasnt the first disc I bought to practice by myself for my current hiatus to ultimate. I played in the Philippines and being that I live in a small-ish town, it seems that there are no pick-up games around so I decided that I would just practice my throwing. I couldnt find any Discraft discs at any sporting goods store that I went to but I did find an Innova Pulsar so I bought it and practiced with it for a couple weeks until I bought an Ultra-Star. Now, since I was used to the Pulsar, it felt odd in my hands, it felt odd to throw, and just downright odd. Now that I have had some time to get used to it (I practice with the Pulsar and Ultra-Star mixed together), I can now throw it straight and throw it far. At first, it did feel very odd since I was used to the Pulsar. The Ultra-Star is slightly smaller than the Pulsar and its rim isnt as deep. Bending the Ultra-Star is easier (not a bad thing) since the plastic seems to be softer. The leading edge is the same stiffness for both, but the Ultra-Star has a bit of a leading edge, while the Pulsar has a broad, flat edge. Throwing the Ultra-Star seems, to me, to be easier than the Pulsar. Since the Ultra-Star has a slightly smaller diameter, it seems to spin better and can fly farther. Since I am only a rookie in Ultimate having only played a few weeks and got to play as a sub in one national tournament in the Philippines I may not know as much as other, more experienced players. Despite that, I do love the game.

I love playing frisbee. Who doesnt really? Anways this is a great frisbee because its: A) cheap I mean come on at ~8$ thats like the price of 2 coffees from starbucks and this frisbee will give you hours of enjoyment (and frustration if you get it stuck in a tree) B) Its a great weight. At 175 grams its the official Ultimate Frisbee weight which makes it perfect for those pickup games in the park. C) The one I got is glow in the dark which allows for endless enjoyment at any time of the day or night. I have been known to play frisbee at 1 AM in the morning much to the dismay of my neighbors who think I should be quiet while playing frisbee (as if thats in my control!) The one downside to this frisbee that I think only occurs in the glow in the dark one is that if you leave it in a hot car, it gets sort of melty. Not enough to affect game play but enough to make your worry about it a little bit everyday its really hot out. I had a frisbee by the same company that wasnt glow in the dark and it never had that issue so I think it may be the glow in the dark chemical that causes it. Overall though a great product that should be given to each child in grade school to try and curb the obesity epidemic.

I love this frisbee soo much. I play for a couple hours every week. It feels soo nice to throw and catch. Might not be the best frisbee for kids just because it is a bit big for them, but for adults and teens its fantastic! I seriously cant recommend this frisbee enough. Whenever I go to an event where other people also bring frisbees, we always play with mine, since it feels great to throw, flys super accurately, and is easy to catch. Its also super durable, it has hit trees, rocks, and cement, still works great!

Makes for an excellent party trick youll take out once and never use again. Money well spent.

Frisbee is very well made and has just the right amount of weight- makes for better frisbee throwing and catching experience.

I usually don’t write reviews but just had to this time. My 14 year old son and I enjoy going to the front yard and throwing discs. Recently we went to Walmart and bought a cheapie. Well…! That disc went everywhere except where we wanted it too. My son found this one, so I ordered it. WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE! We were able to throw and catch this one over 300 times without a miss. Thank you for helping me spend quality fun time with my son!!!!

This is a good night time Ultimate disc. I recommend a high power LED UV flashlight to charge this up, and the glow lasts for 10+ minutes. Simply recharge it back up for 15 seconds,. and you get another 10 minutes. If you dont want to recharge your GITD frisbee, then play during the day. :)

We have a ton of cheap frisbees, the give away kind. This is a huge difference and a lot easier for my 7 year old to throw.
