Drill America 3/8-16 UNC High Speed Steel Tap Set

Did the job.

I love the different coarse of cut on each tap. Cut straight through solid steel and each finer tap made a clean cut for my bolts to snug up into.

These taps were much easier to use than I had expected, not having tapped anything before. Although its not likely Ill use them often, if ever again, Im completely satisfied.

I bought the set to chase some threads and finish threads in a blind hole. They worked great and cut new threads easily. I only used the taps for one hole, but they are still sharp and show no signs of damage.

Always a great product. Never had any issues. Keep em lubed.

I needed a bottom and plug tap for 8-32 metal/jewelry working and it took awhile to get all 3 types in one item and purchase price separately was not as good as this offering. They look perfectly all right, so it was felicitous.

Did the job.

I needed a tap that would thread deeper than the shank. The ones in the illustration would do that. The 1/4-20 taps that were delivered will not. That said, these taps are nicely made and should work well for a lot of applications.

These are not high speed taps, so if you put them in your cordless drill to tap a number of holes, there is a good chance youre going to break at least one. I guess thats why they come in 3s.

I was able to tap into a harden shaft with this. Did it very slowly and a lot of cutting fluid.
