Just one tap. Expected 3 as shown in picture.

Had no problem tapping a through hole in stainless steel. Use lots of oil (even cooking oil is OK).

These taps DO NOT have the center for using a tap follower as pictured.

I used grade 8 bolts into schedule 40 pipe after drilling and tapping. The tap started and cleaned easy.

Apparently there QC is not very astute. The tap packaging was labeled as 1/2-20, however the actual taps in the package. Well they were 1/2-13. Verify the actual item matches the package label, that is the lesson to learn from this.

The cheap sets you get at mass retailers are okay, but theres no substitute for having a taper tap, a regular tap, and a bottoming tap all in the same size for some jobs, and the cheap sets you see usually only have regular taps. I still use my cheap taps, but when Im, working on something special like a steam engine kit, I order up one of these sets in each size Im going to need.

They worked perfect. The price was perfect since I won’t have a use for left handed taps very often. I used them in aluminum and were sharp enough to make clean threads. I don’t think there will be any issues using them in steel.

These are not high speed taps, so if you put them in your cordless drill to tap a number of holes, there is a good chance youre going to break at least one. I guess thats why they come in 3s.

I have bought products from this company before and have been satisfied with their products. With this product the diameter of the shanks was pictured as the minor thread diameter. The set arrived and the diameter of the shanks was the major diameter of the threads. This means that you cannot tap a deeper hole than the cutting length of the tap. This was contrary to Top Dogs question that was answered in 2020: Q: are the 1/4-20 taps like the web page picture, or like the customeer picture. In other words is the shank smaller than the minor diameter? A: As pictured By Top dog on December 7, 2020
