Great product. Best on the market based on my research. Best pricing as well. Easy installation.

Best in its class, but wish it had a higher rating.

I had an electrician install this protector today. So far, no problems and I feel good knowing the house has this protection.

The installation of the suppressor, the circuit breaker and wiring everything up was about 20 minutes total. Time will tell how well it works, but for now, looks good.

This item got great reviews so I thought I would try it at our house which was hit during a storm and we lost some electronics last month. Two problems with my installation. The wires were too short and had to add a jumper to get to some free locations at the ground terminals. The shape of the protector is such that the front extended out from the bottom of the breaker box and prevented the door from sliding down and engaging the lock lever at the bottom. So I installed it with the front facing the back and it works but I cannot view the status LEDS. Not a big deal.

This device is very well made and was easy to install. It is rather like insurance in that I hope it is never called upon to tame any major spikes in my power line, but there is peace of mind knowing its there to protect some very expensive recording studio equipment.

What I dont like is the design. By design, I mean the threaded portion at the top that is supposed to go through a punchout in the breaker box. If thats how youre going to install it - great. However, my install is more complicated. I have a recessed breaker panel - in other words, the front of the box is flush with the sheetrock. Ive spent hours trying to find a 3/4 adapter that will fit, however, the thread patterns on the threaded portion of this unit and the threads on conduit do not match. I can cram and cross-thread a piece of conduit on to the threaded portion for maybe a thread or two but thats now how its supposed to be done. My other option is to remove part of wall around the breaker panel and then attach it directly through the knockout. This, as you can image, will be a royal and expensive pain since I will, among other things, have to re-frame that part of the wall to make it look nice. With the limits on how long the wires should be, they strongly suggest no more than 12, I dont have the option of running conduit behind the wall and back out, even if I dont remove the sheetrock. So, do I keep this item or send it back? If I keep it, I have to totally rig some way to connect it. If I send it back, I lose the return shipping charges. Either way, I lose - I dont like that! If the threads on the top were properly matched to any female conduit, then I could work around this. In other words, very poor design. As to how well it works, I dont know, and in fact, if I can get it properly attached, I hope I never have to put it to the test. Takeaway: If youre box is recessed into the sheetrock like mine is, then dont buy this product.

We had lightening nearby that caused surges that damaged two TVs,a DVR, Security System main board, and Frig main controller board. I installed Eaton Ultimate Surge Protectors on each of my power panels (Siemens). They mount externally on the side of the power panel and connect internally to new 50 amp double pole (ganged) circuit breakers. Easy install, although the ground lead was not long enough to reach the ground bus bar, so I spliced a short length of 12 AWG ground wire to make the connection. Since you must purchase a new 50 amp double pole breaker that fits your power panel (Square D, Siemens, Homelite, Eaton, etc.) and the surge protector connects to the breaker; it fits any brand of power panel. It also seemed to be slightly larger in person than than looking at them installed on a panel. I feel much less concerned when we hear the thunder approaching.

Universally connects to any manufacturer’s load center (breaker box). Quick connect design—easy to mount telephone and cable protection modules. LED status indication. Type 2 AC Power protection. Indoor/Outdoor.120/240V Surge Protective Device. 108kA/Phase, UL 1449.
