> 3 dayAs with most surge device warranties, just ignore this products connected device warranty, too many hoops to jump through, leave those for your home owners insurance company to deal with, should they even want to bother. Get this for the protection it offers your house and connected devices. For the money, compared to other products, this offered the best pricing when comparing the specs of similar devices, while being about the same cost. As others have complained, this device, nor does any whole home surge device, doesnt offer protection against certain types of spikes and certain surges, thats why you have an outlet or surge strip, which does offer this protection. Research what you want/need to makea properly informed decision.

> 3 dayOne of those things you dont know if it is working until crap happens. Easy install, put it on a 50amp breaker for max protection.

Greater than one weekIf you have an Eaton box, buy a BRSURGE/CHSURGE. Fits right in 2 slots, and it protects to 30,000 amps (I think). Its only around 60 bucks at the time of this posting. If you want to get something good, go with the crazy Semens one thats around 300 bucks. The wires in that one are way longer Im told. Certainly you dont want the wires to be too long, but long enough for the installation without a sketchy wirenut kinda thing would be nice. This didnt work well in an Eaton box; wires were not long enough.

> 3 dayFirst, it works ! Some people say they had TVs burned after a lighting striked their home and they should consider that a direct lightining strike to the house is so powerful that some of the energy (static) could travel through the CATV wire, phone lines and internet wiring, Not only through the electric wiring that this device protects also when its too much it overuns the Surge Protector capacity and that is just bad luck. Second, when installed check the grounding on your system, with the time you may result having a very high resistance and poor ground on your main breaker panel so the Surge Protector results having a deficient route to route and discharge the surges. So not all the responsability on saving your houses electronics relays on the Surge Protector solely. This is a professional surge protector, very strong, durable and dependable. I recommend it !

> 3 dayI replaced my older CHSP Max with the newer Ultra. As many have reported the wires are only 12 long, intentionally by Eaton to limit the resistance between the panel and the Surge Protector. Unless your panel has long ground and neutral buses, there is no way to install this without extending one wire a couple of inches. Also no one seems to mention that the Red/Black wires should be twisted to lower the impedance as per the instructions. I never had a problem with my old CHSP MAX with slightly longer wires so I dont expect an issue with the Ultra. Great device for the price just a little tricky to install.

> 3 dayFortunately, I have had no need to see whether or not this product actually protects my house as intended. I have had no major power surges that I know about. It was simple to install and appears just as advertised.

> 3 dayI ordered the Eaton Ultra while house surge protector CHSPT2ULTRA via Amazon. I arrived in a box that was not in new condition. Upon taking the parts out, it immediately became apparent that the device was a return, rather than new and unopened. The red and black wires did not have the end insulation pieces in place, and the wires themselves were untwisted and looking as if theyd been connected to a screw down connector. You should be able to see what I mean based on the images attached. This is not acceptable when I payed full price for a new item. I would like a partial refund, or a replacement. My electrician is not willing to install device until we get a response, one way or the other. He doesnt want to be held responsible for a defective product.
