> 3 dayVery solidly constructed product. The instructions are fantastic - easy to follow, very useful tips and fun to read! And yes, read the instructions beforehand. They are very clear that this kit is primarily for wood stud installation but with additional kit can be hung on concrete. It comes with EVERYTHING you need to install the product - plenty of screws and adapters.

> 3 dayYou can tell as soon as you open the box that this thing is legit. Feels durable, smooth motion, quality materials for sure. They make the installation simple/easy with clear instructions and screws/spacers to accommodate just about any display; Ive used their products on a 10yo Samsung and a brand new Sony. Lag bolts are also included! I wont reduce the rating, but I would suggest using the mounting template for your top two holes, then hang the mount with two of the included lag bolts almost all the way tight, get it centered, and then mark your bottom two holes. The drill bit required is slightly bigger than the slots on the mount, so you will need to remove it to drill the other two holes. Its an extra step, but I used the template for all four holes and the bottom two didnt really line up as well as I would have liked. YMMV, but theres my 2copper

> 3 dayAfter careful leveling of the unit, the final installation is not level. My 55 TV is about 1/2 out of level.

> 3 dayThis is a very simple to install and well designed mount so all I am going to cover is the tilt mechanism. As others have said, it is junk. If you are going to mount your tv high, then just let it tilt to the max which is about 7-8 degrees I think. Any adjustment between that and full up vertical is going to be minimal and I will explain. After reading about the problems with the tilt, and knowing since I am mounting my tv low (the bottom at table height 20 ) that I didnt want any tilt, before I even mounted the bracket to the wall I tightened the tilt mechanism in the full upright position. I have been blue collar for almost 40 years and have very strong forearms and hands, it wasnt enough. When I hung the tv on the mount it leaned forward. Dang, are you kidding me, I read it was bad but if I couldnt get it tight without a cheater it really needs to be re-designed. The gears in my head started turning to come up with a workable solution as I have had to do in the construction trade many times. I happen to have a small steel rod that fit into the tilt slot, see picture, you will have to find something similar if you want your tv to stay upright. I will add that my tv is a 75 that weighs 75lbs. so this might not be necessary if you are hanging a smaller tv, but I wouldnt count on it. Then I tightened the left side, (has a vice handle type of sliding rod that you cant see in the picture) with a small wrench, inserting the small rod through the closed end of the wrench to use as a cheater bar for more leverage and then be able to tighten more than hand tight. Second, on the right side I tightened with an allen wrench, see picture. Take note as you tighten this side it will want to lean forward as you do so, so having a second set of hands to hold the tv in position while being tightened will help. I used the wrench on the the allen wrench also for more leverage. Now that it is as tight as it will ever be without breaking it beyond use, it did break off one of the little thingys that keep the rod from sliding out of the tightening mechanism, that is why the rod is not in the picture. I then tapped two nickels into the gap between the steel rod I inserted and the back of the tilt mechanism. Thats it, it is now locked in and will never slide out of full upright vertical. If you wanted just a little bit of tilt you could go with just the rod and only one nickle or no nickels, that would give you two positions other than full tilt.

> 3 dayI live the versatility of this product. I can tilt and extend my television to get the best picture for where I am sitting. I would definitely buy from them again!

19-11-2024This is a very good TV mount. I used it for a 65in LG OLED C1 TV which weights around 75lbs. I had already owned a different full motion mount for my prior TV but given the required placement of the mount on that TV (much lower), I was going to have to move the old one anyway. The specs on that one suggested that it maxed out on a 60inch TV. Im sure it wouldve worked but that other mount was somewhat tough to move when the TV was actually on it so I decided to get a new one. In comes the ECHOGEAR mount... Everything needed for mounting was included. Especially important are the lag bolts for the portion that mounts to the wall. I dont believe I received those with the prior mount so thats an extra cost (and trip) to factor in for other mounts. Also appreciated the template provided. Instructions were clear, well written and entertaining. I really dont know why that is so hard for many companies but they could take a cue from ECHOGEAR on how to write instructions. Overall, installing the mount was not difficult. The hardest part is just making sure you find studs in the wall and are relatively centered on them. And I guess holding the mount while installing the first couple of lag bolts. My installation has the TV located in a cutout over my fireplace -- i.e. a recessed nook. My TV is 57in wide, the cutout is about 59in wide so there isnt a lot of clearance on the sides. After mounting the brackets to the TV, I measured from the bracket hooks on the TV to the top and bottom of the TV to ensure I was placing it at the right height in the cutout. Marked the height in the nook, grabbed the template and marked where my lag bolts would go in. I pre-drilled the holes and then held up the mount while screwing in the lag bolts, making sure it was level along the way. After that, its just a matter of extending the mount, setting the TV brackets on the front top of the mount and securing the bottom. As another reviewer stated, its a good idea to tighten down the tilt mechanism prior to putting on the TV, it can always be adjusted later. Overall, this could probably be done in about 20 minutes but I probably took an hour just to measure multiple times and think thru what I was doing. As I said, I only had about an inch clearance on either side so I was worried that my slightly off-center studs were going to make it very difficult. Based on where the holes in the backplate are and where my studs were located, the mount was an inch closer on one side then the other, so I was still worried about being centered. Turns out, that was all for naught -- while its good to be as centered as possible, there is sufficient lateral movement in the mount to get the TV centered even if the mount isnt. You might be asking, why only 4 stars? Well, I have a couple of small gripes. Some may be fair, some less so: 1. This mount moves easily, even with a 75lb mounted. Much, much better then my last one. I wanted this feature but now that its mounted, Im not as convinced I do. I only need the movement when first mounting it to pull the TV out, connect everything and then push the TV back into the cutout. After that, Id prefer it didnt move again until I replace it. WIth this mount, if you touch the TV, it will move -- no real force needed. Given my minimal clearance on the sides and the fact that my TV is a thin piece of glass, I have minor concerns that Im going to bounce it into the walls when cleaning. Hard to blame the mount for being too fluid but its a thing. 2. The paper template is nice for marking your holes. My minor gripe there is that its hard to hold a piece of paper against a wall, put a level on it and mark the spots for you lag bolts at the same time. Very minor complaint and there may be some trick to this that Im missing but it would be lovely if some clever person came up with a solution to that -- like a thicker edge on the template. 3. Another minor complaint that may be more on LG then ECHOGEAR -- which screw should I use to mount the brackets to the TV? ECHOGEAR provides several different sizes with different lengths and widths. Ideally, you want to use the longest one that will fit in your TV. The problem is, that if you use one that is too long, you break your TV. If you use one too short, your TV may dismount prematurely. This is probably on the TV manufacturer to provide since Im sure it varies. But a note in the instructions would be nice on how best to determine this. I struggled with this longer then I should have. For me, I took a medium length M10 bolt, attempted to thread it slowly and gently into the TV to see if it would fit all the way. It did, so I went with that. Could I have used a longer one? Perhaps, but well never know. 4. The last gripe is cost. My previous mount was about $50. This one was closer to $120. They are both equally heavy duty and built very similarly. This one has much more fluid motion so its worth extra $$. But is it worth over double? Probably not. But given how much I spent on the TV, Im not going to lose sleep over the cost of the mount but I feel like it would be a better value around $80 and that would have warranted a 5th star from me. In summary, I listed gripes but the reality is that there are many more features of this mount that are good and its definitely something I would purchase again or recommend to a friend. However, I would also have them watch to see if they could get it a little cheaper than list price.

> 3 dayThe quality of this wall mount is exceptional. Its heavy metal with a nice black coating. The box was damaged by the shipping company and I was concerned some of the pieces might be bent or missing...they were not. The mount was well protected in its box. ALL the parts and pieces you could possibly want for various mounting configurations are included as well as an easy to follow and understand instruction booklet. No broken English or improper grammar. It took maybe an hour to put it up. The longest part was measuring to make sure it was where I wanted it. Once the tv is mounted on the bracket, its very easy to adjust, horizontally and vertically. In fact, even though the bracket was installed on the wall, using a level to make sure it WAS level, once the tv was mounted it was obviously NOT level. That was so easy to fix, by adjusting the back center plate with the INCLUDED Allen Wrench. This plate was not leveled from the factory which made the tv cockeyed. Its SO easy to pull the tv out from the wall and angle and turn it any direction I desire. No more glare and I can now watch TV from the kitchen or dining room, by pulling it out. I LOVE the 22 extension. Its also easy to slide back against the wall. It slides back centered exactly how I wanted it mounted on the wall. There is plenty of room to prevent cord pinching or binding. Yes, this is a more expensive mount, but you get what you pay for...Im SO happy with this and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to protect their investment and get a quality wall mount for their tv.
