> 3 dayWorks well. I used this to clean a window sill that I had just used sand paper on. It removed all of the wood dust.

> 3 dayThese come individually wrapped and well packaged. Its pretty similar to most tack cloth. The thin cheesecloth material has lots of holes to catch dust and it is tacky enough to grab particulates but also easy to swipe across smooth surfaces without it catching. It doesnt seem to leave any obvious residue, but touching it with bare hands leaves an obvious light coating on it, similar to dried linseed oil. I suggest wearing gloves when using this and to lightly swipe across surfaces rather than rubbing it in, or else it might leave residue. I also suggest keeping them folded up as the cheesecloth becomes messed up rather easily. Just fold it to a new side to keep using the same cloth.

18-11-2024Each one of these little clothes come sealed in a plastic bag keeping it fresh. The cheesecloth material is pre-soaked in a shellac type liquid that is tacky (I guess that’s why they are called “tack clothes”) that sticks to all the fine particles of dust left behind after sanding and brushing off and even vacuuming. Each cloth is folded to about a 6 inch square that can be unfolded multiple times to about an 18 inch square. After each unfolding it’s newly fresh surface can be used to collect the dust off your workpiece until it is covered in dust; and then turn over and/or unfold again and repeat the process. When finished the cloth can be put back into the plastic bag (if you have carefully opened it) for use again later … until it will no longer pick up dust. Then, for safety, toss it into a fireproof container so that any spontaneous combustion does not occur. These pre-made tack clothes are not inexpensive, but they are very time saving and convenient. I’m glad to have them available to use.

Greater than one weekI bought these to try them while wood working. They worked just as I expected them to. I used them for prep work before both painting and staining and they worked well.

> 3 dayI don’t do a lot of woodworking these days, but every now and then I have a project. Whenever I want to stain something, I generally wipe it down with a rag beforehand. With some surfaces, it’s really important to remove all trace of sawdust or dust particles. I thought I’d give these tack cloths a try to see how well they work. The tackiness in a tack cloth comes from an infusion of “hydrocarbon resin and plasticizer.” This does give it that tacky feel I got when I used these gauze cloths. The stickiness wiped away any trace of dust that might have been lingering on the surface of my wooden desk. There was no residue left behind nor any stickiness. The quality of these so-called superior tack cloths is quite good, excellent actually. I’ll be putting this box in my workshop for when I do have a project to work on. Each cloth is individually wrapped, which I find very convenient. The cloths are quite large and are perfect for my needs. Comparatively, the price is very good at around $12.99 a dozen ($1.08 per cloth). Locally, each cloth is costing around $3 each.

> 3 dayNot too tacky to hold but easily removes all dust & debris from my projects, making final prep before painting a breeze. I often can cut them in half & use only half or even a quarter of the tack cloth to clean a side table or other small/medium sized projects. I’ll buy these again.

> 3 dayThese tack clothes work as expected but the do have a pretty strong smell. Those that are sensitive to smells will want to find a different product.
