The ECO feature is great if you are sitting in sleep mode. Otherwise evening idling on the desktop the fan profile goes full tilt and is like a mini-helicopter spinning up. While it does the whole power supply thing great, I would give this a hard pass unless you keep your tower in its own room far away from you and anyone else that doesnt enjoy the high speed whirring of a fan at tilt.

My 850 watt PS went on the fritz about 6 weeks ago, it would suddenly power off and back on. The computer with be under a load with a game and the power would suddenly die and come back on, rebooting the machine. It was sort of like getting a blue screen without a blue screen. Eventually it started really going crazy like losing power, then flapping on and off rapidly until I pulled the plug. I realized that it wasnt the motherboard, or bad drivers or anything like that. I rebuild the machine every 3 years or so, but I hadnt replaced the power supply in ten years, it was finally time. I like the modular connectors, although some of them were really tight getting them on the SSDs, which are hard to reach inside the case. Once I put it back together, Ive had no trouble with power since, so the old PS was definitely the problem (a Corsair 850W from about 2010).

Not cheap in either build quality nor price. Good for those high demand builds. I like it.

Only brand of psu or gpu Ill buy for my personal rig. Their customer service and warranty are second to none. Had a motherboard die once. They sent me out a new one as soon as they had the tracking number for the defective one I sent to them and the board was a few years old. Im sure other brands are solid but have heard enough about msi and asus customer support to stay away. Far as the power supply goes. Its good, quiet and looks nice. I expect it to make it til the end of its 10 year warranty without incident.

1000W G5 is unbearably loud. Even get a clicking sound when the fan speeds up and there is nothing touching the blades, so noise is from fan itself. Unnecessarily aggressive fan curve and after opening up the PSU found that the fan as well as other components are of lower quality since their switch to a new manufacturer. Get a SeaSonic or Corsair instead unless you get a G3 model or older.

Great power supply! Super quiet powers all my components no problem. evga power supplies are the way to go!
