As comments have stated it is true, some of the charcoal is visible on the packaging. It does fall off but I gave it a good shake before replacement. After 48-72 hours I noticed a very significant change in odor upon returning home. Before there was lingering but its gone. With proper cleaning on my side as well. Would recommend. If you have cats or dogs then highly recommend vacuuming well before replacing filter. Well wishes.

Nobody likes a stinky house. I have a dog, need I say more? First day with the filter I walked into my house and what a difference! My house smells great with zero odors. YOU WILL KNOW WHEN IT IS TIME TO CHANGE IT. As they say: the nose knows. On another note: I wish they were a little cheaper. But in the end, they are worth it.

I ordered these recently as I smoke in my home and want to protect my HVAC system. Immediately after installing these filters my heating and AC in my home was much less effective. My heater actually stopped working and I had to call a technician out to find out what the issue is. After the technician looked over my HVAC system (its a large TRANE system only 4 years old) he said the problem is that the filters, and im quoting him, Work too well. The filters completely cut off the air flow to my HVAC system and it was trying to pull in air from the attic to compensate which damaged one of the switches. Thankfully the replacement switch was only $25 to get my HVAC system working again, however the technician said that he sees this issue a lot with the fancy filters and suggested a less restrictive airflow filter. He said Imagine running a marathon while wearing a gas mask, thats what your HVAC system has been trying to do. Overall, while im sure the product they made was well, its not good for my HVAC system.

Nice middle of the pack filter. Not too thick that impedes air flow but just right combination to catch cat hair and other irritants.

Shredded and came apart in my furnace.. my have guy said it was a faulty filter as my system is operating fine.

The filters arrived very soon after ordering. packaging was sufficient, would have been easier to install If I was using then for the application they were designed for, But I used them on a home made shop filter for my workshop. But Overall they were excellent and value for money.

I been using these for years now but I need to shop elsewhere. This brand is getting to expensive now. Large increase with inflation. The work good o use them in the basement on a box fan.

Needed a good heavy duty filter with a higher rating and odor control for the house. Filtrete cost a bit more but they are always worth it. These are pulling the pollen out of the air, cat hair, dust, and everything else thats floating around. Plus theyre helping reduce that old house smell. If youve got allergies or just strange smells in your home, these will help you breathe a bit better. I have to change them before 90 days, but my house is older and a few air gaps scattered about. Still a good value for the money, quality, and life span.
