Bought a turn of the century home that had been shut up for years. Took the old musty smell out in a couple days.

Excellent quality, filter did it’s job and eliminated the “damp” smell.

I was disappointed to receive two filters that were not smart filters and were not as god a MERV as my past two. These are pretty good but once you have a smart filter the old fashioned count the days since installed are not as useful.

As comments have stated it is true, some of the charcoal is visible on the packaging. It does fall off but I gave it a good shake before replacement. After 48-72 hours I noticed a very significant change in odor upon returning home. Before there was lingering but its gone. With proper cleaning on my side as well. Would recommend. If you have cats or dogs then highly recommend vacuuming well before replacing filter. Well wishes.

Filtrete Allergen Defense Odor Reduction Filters are the absolute best. I bought them on the recommendation from our doctor and the day I installed them I noticed an increase in the air quality in our condo. We have a 1500 sq ft loft and a dog so a quality air filter is important for us. Im putting these on auto order so we have a new one coming in every month. They are the absolute best and we will continue using them and highly recommend them to anyone who considers the air quality of their home to be important for their family.

These were too restrictive and caused the condenser to bang each time the air conditioning shut off. I want be buying again.
