Greater than one weekI love the security that this provides!!! Knowing that I have this in my Go Bag really brings me a lot of relief. I showed my son how to use this and it worked immediately. He practiced and was able to easily get a spark! A big plus was the whistle it came with which was an unexpected surprise!!!! Great for alerting of danger:) all in all I highly recommend this to anyone who spends time outdoors or who is preparing for an emergency situation!

> 3 dayThis is the perfect fire starter to add to your bug out bag. And it came with a bonus emergency whistle. It was a nice surprise. I wanted something small I could add to each of my daughters bug out bags. Im really pleased with these. Heres hoping we never need to bug out!

> 3 dayThis is the same one I had in camp, lasted me over 10 years until it was lost. Took me only 10 seconds to start from the first strike. Scrape a little off onto what youre trying to start, then strike it over top of it. The whistle is great, was more interested in the striker. Will be in my camping bag from now on.

> 3 dayThis combination fire starter and whistle set is a practical addition to a go bag, for camping, or survival kit. The starter does take some effort to set sparks and you would need some kindling but its also not dependent on any lighter fluid. The whistle is light and easy to use.

> 3 dayHuuggeee sparks come out of this one . I’ve had other fire starters that make small sparks. The stick itself is also big so it will last a while. Don’t really use the whistle but maybe someday it’ll come in handy because it’s really loud. The other fire starters I’ve used are much harder to make fires with and I use them at work all day. Teaching basic survival skills

> 3 dayLive in the jungle area with plenty of places to camp and have fires. My lil one is growing fast this is a prefect gift for her. Easy to use light weight. Wish the striker was little better but works great and a must have for outdoorsy folks.

Just My Opinion
Greater than one weekThis came with a PopSocket gift but they didnt need to buy my happiness: this is a well made set. We had to purchase one of these when my daughter was in Girl Scouts and there is no comparison. This set is less expensive and 10x better quality. This comes with a whistle, scraper (end), flint and striker. There is a length of paracord to hold it all together. You could put all these on a small locking carabiner and attach it to your backpack.
