> 3 dayI know that you have to keep children safe and can’t have the string too long, but it must be long enough to actually play it. It’s kind of isn’t :( but removed the string and my grandson enjoys it.

> 3 dayBought this for my 8 month old son. I know this product is recommended for 18 months plus, however, I was anxious to find out if my first born was a prodigy. He was not. This product is of good quality and sound. The string that connects the mallet is of decent length for a child to help reduce tangling and keeping the mallet from getting lost, but can be hindering to an adult that is trying to express themselves musically. My child primarily keeps the mallet in his mouth and once in a while accidentally lets it drop on the xylophone causing it to make sounds. I, on the other hand, have learned Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and Black Sabbaths Iron Man.

> 3 dayIt is exactly what its supposed to be. Baby likes it, husband likes it, its a winner. I know the string is so short for safety, but an uncoordinated baby/young toddler sometimes has an issue using the stick because of the string. I just cut it off and we deal with losing the stick sometimes. Luckily you can bang on the keys with about anything.

> 3 dayI had one of these as a kid and I was very excited to get one for my daughter. But the string is so small, which makes it hard to use the product. I’m sure the string length has to do child safety, but it still makes the product hard to use. We ended up cutting the string off entirely so now it’s two separate pieces.

> 3 dayI bought this for my son and was also gifted another of the same model. While one of the two was excellent, the other had poor intonation. In a toy that will give a child their first musical experience, its important that they are exposed to good intonation if you hope to start music lessons when theyre older. On another note, Fisher Price does not state that they use BPA-free plastic - somewhat concerning as my 13-month-old likes to chew on the mallet.

> 3 dayI bought this for my Granddaughter but as her father opened it everyone had flash backs of having one as a child. This toy was passes around for hours playing it. Turned out to be my Granddaughters favorite gift.
