> 24 hourThe RT85 is a very nice turntable. It is good value for the money, attractive to look at. I guess my hopes were higher for the sound Quality. I own a Shure M97xE cartridge on a old Technics turntable. It sounds very good, but I had read so much about the Ortofon 2M cartridge thinking it was going to blow that away. It didnt. Maybe the old cartridge is better than I thought.

> 24 hourThe table feels very solid, I have it in my second floor where there can be a lot vibration coming from the floor and transmitted to my entertainment center. Plus the table is very close to one of the front speaker. I have never heard any kind of feedback or rumble which would be expected from cheaper players, I assume it is the overall weight and specially the weight of the platter that accounts for that.

> 24 hourUpdate 1/24 - Must have been a bad lot b/c the Marantz TT replacement in the identical set-up (cables/amp/ground/speakers/isolation table/location sounds WONDERFUL. Sorry RT85, may all others not experience what we went through for almost 2 months.

> 24 hourThis is really a fantastic turntable, and the 2M Blue stylus is great. However Fluance customer support confirmed they do not have a stockist in the UK for replacement parts. I went to buy an $18 replacement belt through their website and they quoted over $100 for postage to the UK, + taxes. In total $150 for an $18 belt!

> 24 hourCould be a great turntable, I will never know. I only owned it for 30 days. When a friend visited and GENTLY set an album cover down on the acrylic cover I thought nothing of it. The cleaning lady arrived the next morning, and I watched her gently pull it off... Either the placement or removal of an album cover from the plastic left a bunch of scratches.Yes they are small and hard to see, but I have had 3 other quality turntables and even though I always clean with a microfiber towel and non ammonia cleaners, I have never seen anything like it. Rather than return the table and say something is wrong with it, I contacted the company to attempt to purchase or at least pay shipping for a replacement cover. They wanted $50 for another junk cover. This is their $500, 30 day old most expensive table. They should have offered some sort of help, but none was offered at all. I could have just returned it claiming a defect. Lesson learned about being honest. I boxed it up to sell used and will have nothing more to do with this typical Internet only company.
