I am a ASE master Tech and I love this meter. I have had it now for about a year and it gets used every day and I am still using the original batteries. Some have reviews that say the batteries leak and destroy the meter, but I only put the BEST batteries on the market in this meter so I hope I do not ever have that problem. Also I was very weary about buying this meter because of so many people say that it has a battery draw issue on the batterys but again I have never experienced this.

Ive read all the reviews, and I had had the same issues with the batteries. I called Fluke and they say that it is a known issue and they are fixing them. I have had mine for about 4 years and use it almost daily. There have been occurrences where the display would not turn on, and when I opened the battery compartment, my batteries were splitting on the verge of leaking. I caught this twice and was able to clean it out without any residual damage. Hopefully Fluke has the fix needed to solve this issue. With the battery issue being addressed by Fluke, I see no problems in the future. As long as the battery issue is corrected, I would definitely buy this meter again.

Dont buy, like the reviews say. I got mine and its a pain in the ass. If you dont remove the batteries after every use... Itll drain them, after the batteries leak, they corrode the board and its junk. You can clean the board or get used to removing the batteries all the time. Im a mechanic and I use my meter almost 5 days a week so I thought Id be fine, Im wrong.... Also got a klein meter, its better because it works, but reads super slow, so Im out of pocket about 600 with pouches to carry them in and should of got the damn 87v from fluke. Would if been better off, but now I know about other junk out there.

The meter and its features are great, I used it at home a few times and use it at work repairing cars. I have had this meter 2 years now, its held up very well, but after today its GONE, I traded it in and bought a Fluke 88. I am sick and tired of having to pull and install the batteries each time I use the meter! You have to remove the batteries from the meter and display after using meter or they will be dead in a day or 2, even if you use the meter regularly, the batteries dont last. its a shame.... Sounds petty, just swap batteries and save money from getting a new meter, but Ive had it.

Fantastic meter, thought I would ocationally use the detachable display but I use it all the time. This thing is the cats meow. The leads that came with it were kind of cheap though, recommend silicone leads.

I just purchased this DMM a few days ago. The wireless function is a lifesaver. I have been employed by a bus (Touring Coach) dealership for the past 14 years, as a service technician (mostly electrical/electronic circuit troubleshooting and tracing.

Now you can work in two places at once. With the new Fluke 233 wireless remote display Multimeter you donâ€tmt need the help of another person when reading the display. Standing on ladders, tangling long Test leads, or calling on a second person while testing are all now a thing of the past. Measure safely while placing the meter in hazardous areas, in clean rooms or near moving machinery. The Fluke 233 is a tool that will make your job easier. Operating Temperature: -40°C to +400°C.

From the Manufacturer

As electrical systems grow more and more complex, spikes, transients, surges, and sudden over voltage events become more common. These can trigger a sequence of events that may lead to serious injury. This is why test equipment must be designed to protect people who work in this high-voltage high-current environment. The Fluke 233 Remote Display Multimeter is compact, rugged, reliable, and easy to use. The 233 features True-rms AC voltage and current for accurate measurements on non-linear signals, and it measures up to 1000 volts AC and DC, and 10 A (20 A for 30 seconds). The meter has Min/Max and Average recording to capture variations automatically and it performs resistance, continuity and diode tests. The low power wireless technology allows the large digit display with backlight to be carried up to 10 meters (33 feet) away from the point of measurement for added flexibility and no interference with measurements. The built in thermometer conveniently allows you to take temperature readings without having to carry a separate instrument. The removable magnetic display can be conveniently mounted where it is easily seen and allows you to take measurements without holding the meter to improve visual focus on probes and augment safe electrical measurements. The 233 Multimeter includes five AA batteries and runs approximately 400 hours with the meter"s auto power off feature. The meter also includes the following: a test lead set, alligator clip set, 80BK-A Temperature Probe, CD-ROM, and user"s manual. The Fluke 233 Remote Display Multimeter is covered by a three year warranty and is old one item per package.
