Greater than one weekI love going on dirt trails in my Jeep Wrangler. Once your out in the woods, it can be easy to get confused about which turns to take. But not with the InReach Mini. Paired with the Gaia app, this little tracker keeps you on course perfectly. Plus if needed, you can make an emergency shout out. Now I wouldn’t hit the trails without it. This model is really all I needed. A great buy!

> 3 dayBack in my day, you went to the backcountry prepared to save your life without help. As in, we had wilderness first aid training, backup water purification, knew orienteering, guarded the topo maps like our firestarters, knew exactly how many calories wed packed so we could stand delays, learned to read clouds and fronts, etc. Also, daily checkins were a ridiculous concept. This was the 90s, an era of rugged disconnection.

> 3 dayWonderful gps for remote tracking plus message capabilities. Not super high tech, kinda Stone Age-ish but worth the money for connectivity where nothing else works.

> 3 dayThis expensive device is just terrible. I purchased it because I spend a lot of time in an area with no cell coverage and I need to check in with staff. It can take 15 minutes for it to find a satellite or it might not find a satellite at all. Even in clear open sky, it wont connect. Its very disappointing.

> 3 dayI apologize if this gets too long but some of you may benefit from my experience if you are on the fence about the inReach Mini.

> 3 dayNo matter where I am, this just displays Wait for GPS for hours until it gets a signal. Once it has a signal, the text messaging rarely works and can take hours or days to send.

> 3 dayI use this a emergency backup when I dont have service, just for peace of mind. It works great for most things, but I havent been able to get the firmware update or sync to work. The Bluetooth doesnt work, either, so I cant connect it to my phone. But Im able to send messages and other use other satellite functions. Its overpriced, but if youre outside cell service regularly then its worth having.
