> 24 hourThe description of this product leads one to believe that it will, on its own, work with Alexa. This is mostly not true. I say mostly because, like so many others writing about this device on Amazon, one month later, the device stopped working and would never again connect to Alexa. Further research lead me to purchase a SmartThings hub... it worked and was able to use the SmartThings Alexa skill to control the GE dimmer. However, if I knew that I needed to buy, and configure, another hub (at cost of $119), I never would have purchased this device.

> 24 hourI do not have the patience. I use it as a manual dimmer. Or rather I did until a power surge seems to have taken that functionality away

> 24 hourThis product is great. I use it to adjust the brightness of string lights I have around my living room and it easily controllable with my Echo or the Alexa app on my phone. I had originally purchased a different brand of dimmer plug and it was a nightmare. I returned it and bought this item and it was so much better. I was able to get it set up easily on the first try and it has operated perfectly since.

> 24 hourThe unit works, and still does, connected to Home Assistant, but it mad) has developed a nasty feedback whistle. Im guessing bad capacitor. Unfortunately I let the return window go by so Im stuck with it unless GE will replace it for me. Im using it for a small year round Christmas tree with 25 incandescent bulbs, so its definitely not a load issue, and theres nothing plugged into the non-switched side. My kids are complaining about the sound so it has to go.

> 24 hourReally like these GE controllers and dimmers. They work really well and pair with my Smartthings Hub very easily.

> 24 hourI bought this to replace some old X10 dimmer plugs that I have connected to 100W equivalent LED bulbs (Philips). The X-10 module dims the bulb perfectly, but this does not. If I command this to dim the bulb I get flickering or nothing. Very disappointing since it says it works with dimmable LED bulbs and the bulbs do dim correctly with the old cheap X10 powerline communicating units I am trying to phase out. I them found out it couldnt do two 100 watt equivalent led bulbs but it is working with one. Why it didnt work initially with the one 100 watt equivalent across the room I dont know. Kind of annoyed I need one for each fixture, but they are fine now.

> 24 hourI know I shouldve read the description closer but I bought this without having a hub and it worked as a switch but did not have the ability to dim. Once I upgraded my Amazon Echo 1st gen to a 4th gen (which acts as a hub) it works great. The bulb and lamp I bought were just too bright for my current room. The dimmer allows me to put it to 50% and its perfect.

> 24 hourUnit will randomly shut off the light, at which point it becomes unresponsive to Alexa. However, if you shut off the lamp, using the lamps own switch, and turn it back on, the light lights up and it remains responsive to Alexa until the next random time it decides to flake out. I will be buying a different brand next time.

> 24 hourThis dimmer works great with incandescent bulbs, but I wanted to use it with a string of LED bulbs. When plugged in to this dimmer the LEDs would never fully turn off! When the switch was off, the LEDs would still glow faintly.
