I cannot say enough good things about Retayne! I used to struggle with fabrics bleeding when I prewash before a sewing project. I used to wash several times. With Retayne, I can wash them once, and be confident that they will not bleed. I wish I had discovered it sooner.

Hekos with colorfastness

I am making a quilt with both very light and very dark batiks. Retayne set the colors and nothing bleeds!

Love retain for all fabric washing. IF fabric colors bleed this is the best to hold the dyes. No residue on fabric after washing. YEs, it does take time to soak the fabric but so worth it . Happy sewing for all quilters.

I now use this for all new clothes. Was disappointed in how quickly my childrens clothes would fade after buying them, and this has helped them look much better!

I have a small sewing business and prewash hundreds of yards of fabric. I am often sewing red onto white and I have to be 100% sure that the red is not going to bleed when my customer washed their finished item for the first time. This product works great. I was too many yards to use it exactly as directed (soaking in a bucket), but heres how I make it work with my high efficiency front loader: I pour 1 tsp/yard (I use the cap as a tsp approximate) into the machine - 1/2 into the main compartment, 1/2 into the prewash. I run it as a regular cycle, with hot/cold selected, and an auto soak. After it runs through that I add a sheet of shout dye catcher to the machine, a small amount of regular detergent and run it on a 20 min quick cycle with warm water. I have only had one red fabric ever leak dye onto the shout sheet. (Synthrapol worked for that one). The only downsides of this product are the amount of time running the wash and amount of product required. I go through bottles quite fast. But for a home sewer or quilter, this size bottle would last a long time.

It’s sooooo easy to use….and none of the colors bleed.

Although the fabrics were mostly prewashed I wasnt taking chances with all the white on this quilt, pic attached. Worked perfectly! Very pleased. Next up a blue batik bargello that Im working on. I will update when Ive tried this product again.
