I tried another type of tape to seal my daughters cars sunroof that was leaking and that one came right off, this tape stuck on and seems very hard to pull off which is good. Its also 4 inches wide so it covers a lot of space if you need it to. I agree with the other reviews that maybe theres not a lot of tape on the roll but it was enough for what I needed to do. I shot the water hose over it about an hour after and dont see any leaks. Thats my story, best of luck everyone.

When I started seeing a leak in my dishwasher because of the rubber along the door, I tried using duct tape to keep it in place. That obviously didnt hold when submerged in water, so I finally took the plunge and went with this that claims to be waterproof. It isnt like regular duct tape in that its a roll and has a plastic that needs to be peeled off the back before adhesion. So far so good. After about 4-5 washes, it seems to be holding under the water and I havent seen any leaks.

I am using this to waterproof a door threshold that has asphalt shingles lapped under it. The asphalt shingles cracked under foot traffic. So I am using this to lay over the asphalt and tuck under the metal door threshold to fix a water leak problem. (its a storage space in a two story car garage, and this area gets rain water when it blows against the door.). what I had to do, to make this work is remove the top layer of sand embedded in the asphalt shingles so this tape will lay flat with no voids and all the edges will hold down. This was much cheaper to fix a problem that trying to replace the asphalt shinges (the previous owner glued them down). I used a 6 inch metal scraper to remove the surface sand in the asphalt under the shingles were flat. Then I applied this gorilla patch tape. For extra grab, I used a heat gun while rolling a 6 metal pipe (like a bread roller), starting from center and working out toward the edges. This really helped the adhesives lock into the asphalt. I expect this repair to fix a water leak that was going to eventually cause lots of problems with the framing under the door threshold. Not bad for less than 20 bucks. good stuff

I used this tape to patch 3 roof pipe boots whose rubber gaskets were dry rotting. Amazing tack, stretch and adhesion. TIPS: 1. DONT use latex gloves. The adhesive is so tacky, it will pull off the glove fingertips. 2. Try to score through just the tape, not the backing. I found it easier to remove the tape with the backing remaining on the roll. 3. I made the repairs in 91° direct sun. While it provided instant adhesion, it was almost to tacky to work with.

Works great for what I used it for, not sure Id slap it on a boat and head out into the ocean...I used it on some planters that have water reservoirs that were leaking, for the most part this tape did help but the angle I needed to stick it wasnt smooth, so it wasnt 100% leak proof, a little water still leaked out. I also used it on the sharp edges of wood, on a structure I was screening in for my plants, to avoid the screen netting from tearing. It works great for that! Its definitely weather proof, because its been through a lot of storm and its still holding up! The only thing that bothers me, is that its hard to cut without getting sticky, hard to remove glue off the scissors...Ill have to find some kind of solvent to clean them. But the point is to make it sticky and strong...so maybe use a disposable razor blade to cut it.
