i had the single reel hakko and it was meh. it has some issues which i wish they would have corrected and in this dual version everything except the plastic spools which is not that big of a deal breaker is better. i also love that this version has a handle so when i move to one of my other stations i dont have to now have multiple rolls at every single place i need it like i used to, and the single roll version the rolls basically fall right out if you tilt it, just grab this with the handle and move it where i need it. i ended up buying 4 of these to hold all the variants of solder i normally use. and its quick enough to swap out rolls for the times i use something less common. the setup i had before (and is still in use as i have a TON of various solder rolls) was something i made and it works awesome but is not mobile and mounted to the wall. im going to make something to hold these dual reels and again when i need to grab one and go its easy, the one thing i do wish it had is some kind of tagging system to say what solder is which. i had to use my ptouch brother to make small stickers to mark which is which.

works brilliantly. only wish both spools were reversible. Also the product page does not denote that it comes disassembled

Built from heavy steel plates, which make it sturdy, and rubber padding stops it from sliding everywhere. Though the only issue I have is that the wire guide is bit flimsy, and since its not fixed, it tends to move downwards.

For years I just let my spools of solder sit on the surface of my bench. I survived and so did the solder. But there were times Id get the loose strand of highly conductive solder tangled in various things already present in the working area and the opportunity for an electrical short circuit was a high possibility. But the size solder was very small and a short would probably just melt it, acting as a fuse. But I wanted to have two diameters of solder readily at hand for some new projects and that meant even more chances of an electrical OOPS, and the larger gauge solder wouldnt melt fuse-like as easily as the small, 0.025 diameter thats been my go-to solder for years. This Hakko solder stand was discovered accidentally via a Suggested for you presentation here on Amazon. The size, two-spool capacity, previous experience with Hakko products and price made the decision to buy very easy. The stand stays put. The solder is up and out of the way of my bench surface. The stand is solid, easy to place a spool in and easy to reel in any excess solder that may invade the working area once the soldering is done. I cant complain about any aspect of the stand - it works perfect.

Much heavier than I expected. This is very stable when pulling the solder of the spools.

Solder for a living, this is a must. I use mine for ROHS and Lead. Very heavy and well made.

Heavy solid construction. Makes it easy to switch between solder types / and diameters at a moments notice. A real time saver and reduces clutter on the bench.
