> 3 dayWe were experiencing a massive flea infestation and our home is tiled throughout. We tried flea collars and spray but all the spray did was make us cough. We decided to add DE in a flea killing triad of DE, traps and better collars and within 2 weeks the fleas were gone. The great thing about DE is it works against other pests as well and its not toxic.

Beautifully Imperfect!
> 3 dayI got this to apply around my apartment, for precautionary measures. The duster is much bigger than anticipated. I used something else to help apply it where I wanted it. Best thing about it, its natural and effective. HOWEVER.............be very careful when applying this. I would suggest wearing a mask when applying it, not because of smell, but because in general, breathing this in could be very harmful. Also, wash your hands, after any contact with it. Again, for safety reasons, despite it being natural and safe. This large 4 lb. bag will last me quite some time, and for the price, Im pleased that I got it.

> 3 dayTo be honest I am not all together sure what its actual use is, I just know I read it could get rid of fleas. It does do that temporarily. Should you be using it for that DO NOT use the spryer that comes with it. I did and it got everywhere, I literally had to clean it off of everything in my room. The better albeit harder way to do it is to find something to put it in and sprinkle it. When my sister used it she used a mason jar and poked holes on the lid. If you have a tiny flea problem this will solve it for a month or so, if you have a big flea problem you’re looking at it lasting a week at best. Again, I don’t know what it’s actually used for, so this review is based on what I used it for.

> 3 dayI got this product to sprinkle around my windows to keep ants out. Well, after digging through the bag of super fine powder to get the applicator out, I found dust everywhere...then I read the label, which says to avoid inhaling it and use a respirator and goggles during application. I was bummed because I have pets, and everyone says food grade DE is safe for use around people and pets - but its clearly not, for this type of application. Even closing the bag spouted dust...and the zip on the bag does not close. I poured some outside, but its so fine it just blew away and didnt go into the sidewalk cracks I intended it for. I couldnt even sweep it into place. Disappointed to say the least (for my intended application)! Im giving it 4 stars because if used as anti-caking for animal feed, maybe its awesome!! But not easy for novices to apply...

> 3 dayI was at the end of the rope on what to do about our flea infestation. My cat is an indoor/outdoor cat is constantly coming into contact with neighboring cats - that coupled with the unusual heat weve had this summer - seems to have exacerbated our flea problem. Ive used the awful and toxic flea bombs - on several occasions, have used the expensive flea sprays, used a variety of medication on my cat, and have given my cat several baths - which if you knew my cat - you would know how dangerous that in itself is - because he hates water. After extensive research I came across this product, and what first grabbed my attention was the fact that the food grade is not toxic to humans or pets. I have a child in my home and was fearful of introducing anymore chemicals into the home; I also was fearful of putting more toxic chemicals on my cat. I treated my entire home with this stuff, along with my yard and the exterior of my home (window sills, entry ways). Now.....this stuff is really - really messy. I wasnt sure that I could handle white powder being everywhere but I was desperate to see if this product was effective at killing fleas - as it claimed to be. I sprinkled this product in the interior of my entire home, and didnt touch the product at all and let it sit overnight. (Around 17 hours) When I got up the next morning, I put a pair of white socks on so that I could see whether or not any fleas jumped on me. At first I was horrified as I literally had hundreds of fleas on my socks. I was discouraged as I first thought that this product was ineffective - not realizing the fleas were actually scrambling to stay alive. Prior to using this product - I had never seen that many fleas in my home. Seeing that many fleas made me realize just how effectice the product was as it drew the fleas out of the carpet as they were trying to get away from the product. I vacuumed up the product - vacuuming my entire home - and didnt see anymore fleas. Later that evening I vacuumed again - even the hardwood floors - and have only seen a total of two fleas. I understand that I need to vacuum - vacuum - vacuum. I still havent let my cat back inside as I have to treat him again. At present I mix this product with his cat food to help treat him from the inside - I also rubbed some of this product into his coat. This product has been extremely effective - Im embarrassed to admit that I dont usually write reviews - especially not this long. But because of how impressed I am with this product and how effective it really is, I wanted to share this information in the event it helps someone else.

> 3 dayI purchased these for use against Argentine ants. The included duster doesnt really dust so much as shoot a stream, so maybe purchase a separate duster if you just want a fine layer. If youre fine with just blasting diatomaceous earth everywhere, then youll be fine with the included duster. This stuff works well against ants. For Argentine ants in particular, use it dust around entry points. Itll cut up and dry out their exoskeletons to kill them, but ultimately it only acts as a deterrent. Ants will stop coming from where you dust and generally stay away from the dusted areas, but they will just find another entry point. This is a band-aid and not a solution. Diatomaceous earth should be used to corral the ants to places you dont mind them being, where you can deploy further baits and potentially pesticides to actually solve the problem. While useful, it should be used as a part of a more complete home infestation treatment. Sprinkle diatomaceous earth where you dont want ants, but keep it away from baits and pesticide treated places so the ants will properly find the means to eliminate themselves.
