Great HEPA filter for Holmes HAP9240 in bedroom or equivalent size room.

I wondered the diff between Odor and Allergy. Nothing only shows the real difference, Odor Eliminator includes a slip of paper that shows the filter life of odor is 4 months & allergy is 12 months. Makes the Odor Eliminator a lot more expensive in life time money. Allergy is better unless you have bad odors.

I bought the Holmes air cleaner for my nightstand a long time ago. I started buying the filters from Amazon because they are always available (not so at Walmart) and, if I buy them on a subscription basis, they are a better deal. I know the filter is pulling dust and allergens out of the air because I can see it turn from bright white to tan to brown over the four months of its life. I also sleep better with this running all night, not only because I am breathing cleaner air, but the white noise of the fan sends me into a deep sleep. (I live in an apartment neighborhood and it blocks the noise of the Incel boys on the balcony across from my bedroom window who smoke and vape pot all through the night and hack and cough while they are huffing.)

Quality filter, works well. A tad expensive. Shipped fast and well.

Im wondering if anyone else had had same issue. We noticed a burning rubber/plastic smell in all of our air purifiers after installing these filters. Assuming there is a connection between new filters and the smell. Didnt see any signs of melting or harm, figured it was just the filter itself.

dirty air goes in, clean air comes out. You cant explain that.

These dont have too great a smell of their own, by me, although my extremely sensitive sibling may disagree. They do cut most of the smoke that drifts through our apartment walls, but still not completely effective against both the putrid electronic air freshener that comes through from the apartment below us, and whatever (rot? mold?) is behind the wall by the vanity that the pipes run through - we havent found anything that kills those, yet.
