This is good quality bronze wool. It has some advantages over fine steel wool: Less inclined to splinter, more durable, and does not rust. I bought it for cleaning the inside of my 120-gallon glass turtle tank, figuring the bronze would be less inclined to scratch the glass. (Not that steel would scratch the glass, but bronze is softer in that respect.) It works very well for that task. Ive gotten about half of the inside of the tank free of algae with just one small puff of bronze wool. So I expect my supply to last a very long time unless I take on a big wood refinishing product. The pricing was strange. I was able to save money by buying multiple small packages. Buyer beware.

Bronze is softer than steel, and bronze wool is softer than steel wool, with the added benefit that it does not rust. My friend uses this fine brass wool wrapped around a small round brass brush with bore cleaner to clean his shotgun barrel after going to the range. It removes the lumps of lead that build up without scratching the barrel.

I bot this bronze wool because I was concerned that the steel wool would discolor some wood projects when using water based products over it due to risk for rust with flecks of the steel. This bronze wool did help with that but it seemed to fall apart quite easily and not last very long. I may try another brand next time I need some.

Bought for cleaning glass. It cleans glass without leaving scratches (yet).

Purchased to remove light rust from collectable firearms it has done other jobs as well. Used with some gun oil I was able to dramatically improve the barrel appearance on two rifles one being made in 1902. I was able to use some elbow grease without destroying the original bluing. The other was only 30 yo it was a premium gun when made with high gloss bluing. My gal noticed the improvement and friends were impressed. Encouraged by good results I tackled and new Marlin rifle with a laminated wood stock. Starting with the barrel it got a light buffung with oil and turned out nice. Next the stock was worked with some of this dry. Starting cautiously it ended up getting a serious rubbing. The wood aquired a nice smooth finish with a slight gloss. All the fine scratches and small specks were removed with some work. This stuff does shed a lot of small particles especially when used dry and really trashed my gun mat. The particles getting stuck in the nap. My gal now uses it on her jewelry.

I use these for tough spots with my gun cleaning kit. The bronze works better than steel wool and this is a fine (not medium, heavy duty) bronze. Im not sure about copper content but I always wear gloves and the solvent and this wool produces a blue/green residue. It wipes off easily. I didnt have the same problem with a product purchased at a local indpt. store.

Use only this if you do not want any rust to develop on your metal and chrome. Works great to shine up and clean up those chrome bumpers on your classic ride!
