If you have pets in your house, this is the best thing you can buy! After cleaning all the carpets they look brand new and the rooms smell amazing! We even had visits who asked if our carpets where new.

Let me preface this review. I am a vet with PTSD and Anxiety that also has OCD. I have 4 cats and 2 dogs. But I keep my home clean. In the last two and a half years I have replaced two Bissell shampooers . So I decided to get this one. This thing is the bomb diggity. I shampooed once I had mud coming out. Two rinses later still hade dirt. But not as much. With the attachments and rubber mat I am set. Couches beds car here I come with a 12 pack and some jams youre asses are getting clean. Oh cleaning this big Bertha of cleaning is a breeze to clean out 5 freaking stars

Our shampooer broke mid job. Thats the way things go. We ordered this as a replacement. It came the next day. I did the other half of the room with a 3 year old Hoover product. I picked up where I left off. The difference was highly visible. I had to redo the areas I did just the day before. I personally think the circular rotation of the brushes is key to the cleaning of the carpets. The stairs did require second pass with the scrub head. Make sure you prime the attachment hose. The attachment hose we did have a bit of a struggle getting it to clip in initially. The furniture attachment is standard compared to other units. The suction power of the unit is awesome. It comes with a cleaning tool the help clean the main head. Easy disassembly to help clean the head. WE LOVE THIS

MY 20 year old Hoover spin brush 50 Died a few days ago. I needed a new Turbine part which Hoover didnt make any more so I bowered my daughters Bissel and that didnt work at all so I ordered a newer Hoover 50 which I received in 3 Days.....WOW!!!! This Hoover did a Fantastic Job on my 15 year old carpet. On the last pic there was a dark grey path from my Bedroom to the kitchen....IT is GONE! This Hoover operates similar to my old one, except it has a rinse feature which I like. I didnt like the cord hook....could have had a lock feature and a couple of feet longer. All in All Hoover is the best in my opinion.....Hope this one lasts 20 anual use years!!!! CLEAN yor Machine after each use....It will last longer!!!

I bought this because I was tired of paying carpet cleaners almost the price of this unit for one single visit. We have dogs, and being able to spot clean is important. I thought this would be a useful unit to have. With that said, I didnt want to pay a lot of money for a carpet cleaning unit because I wasnt sure I would use it - and keep on using it. Now Im sure. Ive found that its very useful and I probably have pulled it out ever 3 weeks or so for something. There is something really satisfying about dumping the dirty discharge water down the drain. You really feel like you are making progress on the carpet. However, that can also be a bane because Ive gone over areas of carpet several times and continue to get dirt out of them. Makes me want to just keep on going and going which really isnt practical. You have to decide what clean enough looks like for you and stop at that point. WHERE IT EXCELS: * I think I get my carpet as clean or better than the professionals. Not because it has as much power, but because I use it more thoroughly than a professional might use their equipment. For example, weve had an area of highly tracked carpet that has looked bad for years, even after professional cleaning. I have gone over it 6 times with this unit and it looks far better than it has in years - even after the professional cleanings. I can simply take the time whereas a professional has to move on to another job at some point to make money. If you have time and willingness, Ive found it to be very effective. * It is great for the occasional spill. Seems to clean them up very well. Ive used it on cut berber carpet as well as tightly stitched carpet. Pet stains, wine, and cranberry juice all came out completely. * It is good for over cleaning the highly tracked areas of your carpet. Rather than call in a professional carpet cleaner to do a lot of your house which may not actually need it just so you can get cleaned a highly tracked area, you can focus on just the highly tracked area. AREAS IN WHICH THIS UNIT IS OK: * Its a lot of work to clean your own carpet. The amount of work is proportional to the capacity of the water, solution, and discharge reservoirs. This unit has struck a pretty good balance between those capacities and weight of the unit when full of water. But its still a lot of work. * It takes a long time to do it right. You have to go over every area of carpet minimally at least 8 times. Why? 1) A stroke out and back to lay down the cleaning solution. 2) A stroke out and back to suck up the cleaning solution. 3) A stroke out and back to lay down water only for a rinse. 4) A stroke out and back to suck up the rinse water. 8 times, minimally. Based on my experience though, to really do it right, you will want to rinse at least twice and on the final sucking up of the rinse water, go back and forth a few times, not just once, so the carpet dries more quickly. So to do it right as I see it, you are really covering every square inch of carpet ~14 times. (You have rinse really well or else dirt is attracted to the soap in the cleaner and you quickly end up with dirty carpet again.) And while doing this, you have to keep dumping the dirty water and refilling the reservoir with clean, hot water. It just takes a very long time. CONS: * Mine broke after 4 months. The turbine which spins the brushes quit working. Fortunately, there is a two year warranty and Hoover said it would be covered (in repair as I type this). I talked to the repair shop and they told me to expect to see them regularly because these are built cheaply and the turbines break over and over. IN SUMMARY: If you want a cheap, light carpet cleaner that if you are willing to put in the effort, will clean your carpet well, this seems like a good choice. If you are looking for it to replace professional carpet cleaning, then it will almost certainly pay for itself if you are willing to put in the time and effort. Works well on stains. Strikes a good balance between weight and reservoir capacity. Build quality is suspect, but the warranty is sufficiently long that most people should be able to make it pay for itself many times over vs. paying a professional - as long as you dont mind hauling it to the nearest repair shop every so often. You might do well to go to Hoovers web site and look up the nearest repair shop before you buy this.

About 25 or so years ago, I decided I was going to make some quick money by getting into the carpet cleaning business so I bought some heavy duty equipment; an Electrolux Epic Pro scrubber, Riccar upright vacuum and a Bissell Mean Green machine to use an an extractor. I never made any money, much less quick money, but I have had that equipment with me ever since and it still works as well today as when it was bought. It has been used, borrowed, abused and used some more. I decided I needed a new machine, an all-in-one, because I got tired of lugging everything out, dragging hoses, cords, spot cleaners and so on to clean a small area. So I researched, and researched, and researched some more and decided to buy a Bissell Big Green Commercial unit. As I began to order it, the thought of spending $400 on a giant 50 lb machine I have to drag out every time I need to clean a spot seemed to go against what I was trying to do. Then it dawned on me, Oh yeah, I have an upstairs.. Nope. Im not dragging that thing around. Then there are the times when it will be borrowed and I will have to lift it, load it, unload it, etc. So I backed out. I decided on the Hoover Scrub Deluxe based on reviews and ordered it through Amazon. Amazingly it arrived one day early on the two day shipping. Thanks Amazon or UPS or whomever is responsible. Anyway, here are my thoughts on it. Just so you know, I have high pile carpets so this machine is already at a bit of a disadvantage. Im going to start with cons: *The handle is not that robust and cheaply attached. Use caution not to put undue lateral pressure on it to force the machine around. It works fine for back-and-forth motion. *The gasket on the bottom of the fresh water tank is cheap. It leaks. It will wear out rapidly. Go ahead and order a couple and keep them on hand. *The solution and fresh water fill ports are identical. The identifiers are molded into the plastic and easy to overlook. Grab some markers and label them. *The tanks are small and go through water quickly. Just cleaning the main walkways in a small room necessitated about three fill-ups and dumps. BTW, remember the cheap gasket? Since you have to remove the water tank to fill it up so many times, it leaks momentarily every time you reinstall it but mine sealed off eventually after each tank install. It might be better to set the water tank on the machine so the fill tank doesnt leak and then just fill it in place with a gallon jug or something. * The cord is short. Im assuming the big companies must T&E folks with tiny houses because cords on home appliances are always too short. Just grab a 6 extension cord as thats about how much more you need. One other thing, and if it wasnt for the fact I have to box and ship the machine this *might* be deal breaker as it bothers me that much, the cord is routed through the bottom of the machine so you will run over it constantly. Yeah, there is a holding clip on the handle but now the cord is about 2 shorter so Im having to whip the cord like a cowboy lassoing a calf to keep it out from under the wheels. Come on Hoover, or China or whatever. Stop that crap. *The scrub brush. Im pretty sure they just stuck that thing on there to say it has one. It freely floats about 2 with very little down pressure and the bristles are fine and soft. What the heck is that thing for anyway? Its darn sure not scrubbing anything. Its probably better to just take it off as its just in the way. Okay, so now the pros: Now, you might think from what I listed above that I hate this machine. Actually I was somewhat impressed with it. Im not sure how it cleans with that crappy little scrub brush but it looked like I was pulling chocolate milk out of my carpets. I regularly vacuum and just did some carpet cleaning about a week ago so I was a little disgusted. This little machine is phenomenal when it comes to spraying and suction and this is where it shines. Its not a carpet scrubber. You would need to buy a dedicated unit for that job. This is an extractor and a darn good one. I used the Hoover soap solution that was included but as soon as I opened the container, I wasnt a fan of the soapy smell. I went ahead and mixed up a 1/2 soap 1/2 water mix on the solution side (and eventually went to 1/3 soap 2/3 water) but started cleaning the carpet with straight ol hot tap water. In case youre wondering, the tank is split with a rinse side for straight water and a wash side for water soap mix. I did a standard rinse pushing forward, extract pulling back and was amazed at how well it worked. Just using hot tap water worked as well as the solution but I went ahead and injected a little Hoover soap into the carpet. Its not so bad when greatly diluted so no headaches. Most of the carpets were okay enough to walk on with bare feet within about 30 minutes, although not dry. Im writing this within an hour of finishing the cleaning so they are still damp. I figure a few hours and we will be good to go. So, what do you get for $140? Well, you get a China-plastic machine with upholstery attachments that has small tanks, leaks a little right out of the box and has a useless scrub brush but somehow still cleans carpets pretty well. I think its a little overpriced for what it is but for small rooms and spot cleaning it should be worth it if the longevity is there. If you really want to make your carpets clean, in this price range I think you would be hard pressed to find a unit with better spraying and suction short of buying a heavy-duty commercial unit. Just buy an actual carpet scrubber with real nap lifters in conjunction with the Hoover. Vacuum really well, then scrub your carpet, extract using hot water with the Hoover then, if you have high pile or plush carpets, go back over your carpet with the nap lifters. It will look brand new again.

This carpet cleaner absolutely WILL get your carpets clean. I have owned many carpet cleaners in my time, and none of them have pulled up as much gross as this one has. To put this into perspective, I have 2 hairy cats, two hairy dogs ( GSD and a sharpei mix. Shedders for sure) as well as 3 children under the age of 10 who live their lives on a homestead. Messes are only second nature to us, and carpets are designed for destruction and gross collections. I go over a carpet twice and its coming up almost clean on the second round. It also pulls almost as much water as it puts down. Full and empty almost at the same time. The downside - people are NOT kidding when they say it has a small tank. I went over this small section twice and filled/emptied the tank 4 times. I understand if the tank was any bigger, this cleaner would be downright heavy and hard to move, but alas it still sucks to have to run up and down the stairs to fill it. In spite of this, I would still purchase this carpet cleaner again :)

I absolutely love this machine! I researched for 3 months before purchase. I usually rent rug Doctor wide track and have been for years. Its a heavy machine but heavy duty so comparison in products to purchase was a hard sell. Ease of attachments: This was very versatile with little work. I cleaned my entire sectional (pets, kids, spills) in 15 minutes. The attachments water return is equal to what it puts out. I used the upholstery attachment here. Stairs: the machine not only has a long cord but also a long hose. We have 12 steps. I left the machine at the bottom of the stairs and completed 8. Then moved it to the top and completed the last 4. I used the stair, crevice and scrub power tool. AMAZING! The attachments and the hose come in a neat mesh hanger bag for easy storage. Dry time on the attachments are a little longer because the heat drying system is not distributed through the hose. No big deal it did a fantastic job! I only had to go over it once. I even did my car mats!! They look brand new, again, kids, dog, spills. Dog pee: My dog gets spiteful and will pee on my cream colored carpet!!! AHHH. Alot of the time these sit, gross!! The scrubbing power (5 rotating scrub brushes) had no problem erasing these in one pass. Oh yeah and no more odors! My pet isnt a smelly girl but after awhile the carpets just smell from her hair! Fresh smelling rooms when I was done. It is a good idea to run a rinse after the wash cycle. use less soap than the fill tank requires. Cut it by half and add water instead or youll have bubbles. No issue after decreasing amount. Weight: very light but durable. I have back and neck injuries and I could carry it even with a full tank. Easy to clean! With reading little direction ( although the pamphlet is very descriptive) the parts came off easily for cleaning and went back easily too! The tanks are easy release and easy to clean. Theres a quick pour spout on the dirty tank to allow quick emptying when still Cleaning and also a latch system that allows it to come apart when complete. Leaking: It didnt leak when moving it, when I used the hose attachment I didnt fasten it and hadnt realized for a minute. This was the only time I had any water on the floor. The gallon tank was helpful. I did my couch and the dog room on one tank before changing it. The water return also is exactly what it put out. You can run this machine dry without any issue like others in the past. We covered, cleaning, attachments, tank size, cord length, hose length, weight, leaking potential, pet stains. I think thats alot of ground! Oh and assembly was 1,2,3. Just take two screws into base of handle and go! No messing with hoses or any mechanical gadgets! Im extremely happy with this purchase. Hoover has not always had all my faith but for this machine we are going to become great friends. I have already told you it took 3 months of research. Im picky and needed alot from my chosen machine. All in all I give this machine a 5 out of a 5
