> 3 dayLast time carpet was cleaned: At least a year. Houehold Occupants: A 2 yr old chocolate milk junkie, a 6 yr old food spilling champion and a senior chihuahua who doesnt always make it to her doggie pad. Shipping: Amazon is amazing as usual. Packaging: Very well packed. All the pieces were there and intact. Setup: Easy. Open the box, attach the handle, fill it up with water & solution, plug it in and start cleaning. Filling: Easy. The openings on the water & solution tank make filling a breeze. No leaks so far. As for the tank size, I feel its adequate. I believe I had to fill the water 4 times and used the entire sample solution bottle for my 10 x 12 living room. Cleaning: Wow! Thats what my wife said when she first saw the carpet after I finished. I felt it put down a lot of solution though so I went back over the area twice with just water which made the rinse option come in handy. The heated air feature is not a gimmick, I feel it helps the carpet dry faster. While this thing isnt a miracle worker, compared to what the carpets were before, it definitely cleans! Emptying: Easy. The separate tanks and spout on the dirty water tank let you fluidly empty the tank when necessary. Manueverability: Easy. Given its smaller size and larger wheels, I had no trouble pushing/pulling this thing around the living room. The cord was long enough to cover the entire room. Upholstery cleaning: It cleaned our microfiber sofa! I was seriously considering replacing our current sofa with a leather one (still might) because this thing is a stain magnet. If I could find the guy who told me this was the best fabric for kids and pets...I digress. The spin brush worked ok for me although I mainly used the wide upholstery brush, scrubbing as I went. I can see why companies charge a lot extra to clean a sofa or chair; very time consuming. The only downside is I need to go back over the side I cleaned because I missed some spots as it is hard to tell when its wet. Storage: Its the size of a vacuum, so it fits right next to Shark Navigator in the closet. The accessories bag that holds the hose and upholstery attachments has a hook attached to it which allows you to hang it on the machine when you arent using it. Durability: Too soon to tell. I think most things can last a while if you take care of them (cleaning before storage, cleaning the brushes, not running it into walls/furniture etc.). Cant do much for manufacturing defects except hope Hoover stands behind their warranty. Overall toughts: I was debating between this and the Bissell Big Green Machine. Both had great reviews and videos on YouTube, but at $127 I couldnt pass this machine up. I expected not to like it and carefully opened the packaging so it would be easier to return it to Amazon later, but as you have read above, I really like this little guy and Im keeping it. It might or might not clean as well as the $400 Bissell, but Im happy with it so thats all that matters to me. Thanks for reading and I hope my review helped you. Have a great day!

> 3 dayI bought this because I was tired of paying carpet cleaners almost the price of this unit for one single visit. We have dogs, and being able to spot clean is important. I thought this would be a useful unit to have. With that said, I didnt want to pay a lot of money for a carpet cleaning unit because I wasnt sure I would use it - and keep on using it. Now Im sure. Ive found that its very useful and I probably have pulled it out ever 3 weeks or so for something. There is something really satisfying about dumping the dirty discharge water down the drain. You really feel like you are making progress on the carpet. However, that can also be a bane because Ive gone over areas of carpet several times and continue to get dirt out of them. Makes me want to just keep on going and going which really isnt practical. You have to decide what clean enough looks like for you and stop at that point. WHERE IT EXCELS: * I think I get my carpet as clean or better than the professionals. Not because it has as much power, but because I use it more thoroughly than a professional might use their equipment. For example, weve had an area of highly tracked carpet that has looked bad for years, even after professional cleaning. I have gone over it 6 times with this unit and it looks far better than it has in years - even after the professional cleanings. I can simply take the time whereas a professional has to move on to another job at some point to make money. If you have time and willingness, Ive found it to be very effective. * It is great for the occasional spill. Seems to clean them up very well. Ive used it on cut berber carpet as well as tightly stitched carpet. Pet stains, wine, and cranberry juice all came out completely. * It is good for over cleaning the highly tracked areas of your carpet. Rather than call in a professional carpet cleaner to do a lot of your house which may not actually need it just so you can get cleaned a highly tracked area, you can focus on just the highly tracked area. AREAS IN WHICH THIS UNIT IS OK: * Its a lot of work to clean your own carpet. The amount of work is proportional to the capacity of the water, solution, and discharge reservoirs. This unit has struck a pretty good balance between those capacities and weight of the unit when full of water. But its still a lot of work. * It takes a long time to do it right. You have to go over every area of carpet minimally at least 8 times. Why? 1) A stroke out and back to lay down the cleaning solution. 2) A stroke out and back to suck up the cleaning solution. 3) A stroke out and back to lay down water only for a rinse. 4) A stroke out and back to suck up the rinse water. 8 times, minimally. Based on my experience though, to really do it right, you will want to rinse at least twice and on the final sucking up of the rinse water, go back and forth a few times, not just once, so the carpet dries more quickly. So to do it right as I see it, you are really covering every square inch of carpet ~14 times. (You have rinse really well or else dirt is attracted to the soap in the cleaner and you quickly end up with dirty carpet again.) And while doing this, you have to keep dumping the dirty water and refilling the reservoir with clean, hot water. It just takes a very long time. CONS: * Mine broke after 4 months. The turbine which spins the brushes quit working. Fortunately, there is a two year warranty and Hoover said it would be covered (in repair as I type this). I talked to the repair shop and they told me to expect to see them regularly because these are built cheaply and the turbines break over and over. IN SUMMARY: If you want a cheap, light carpet cleaner that if you are willing to put in the effort, will clean your carpet well, this seems like a good choice. If you are looking for it to replace professional carpet cleaning, then it will almost certainly pay for itself if you are willing to put in the time and effort. Works well on stains. Strikes a good balance between weight and reservoir capacity. Build quality is suspect, but the warranty is sufficiently long that most people should be able to make it pay for itself many times over vs. paying a professional - as long as you dont mind hauling it to the nearest repair shop every so often. You might do well to go to Hoovers web site and look up the nearest repair shop before you buy this.

07-06-2025Works great. Not for big jobs because the water tank has to be emptied constantly. But overall great product. It withheld my big job.

06-06-2025I purchased this machine along with the Hoover Deep Clean and Restore Carpet Solution. I am very pleased with the outcome after using the combo to clean the carpet in my apartment. I moved in to this apartment about 4 years ago and Im not sure how well the carpet was cleaned before I took residence, but I can tell you the carpet was not new. Since, then the carpet has not been cleaned. I would have to pay to have it professionally done anyway, so I figured for what they charge Id get my own machine. That way I can clean it as often as needed. I wasnt expecting miracles but just hoping to get several stains out of the living room and help the overall appearance. However, this thing worked miracles The stains were no match for the machine & solution. I had used spot cleaners multiple times and they hardly lightened the hue of the stains. Using this on the deep clean setting removed them easily. Also, the rotary brushes do a great job lifting the carpet pile and getting rid of the matted/worn look. I wasnt ready, however, for the pure vile filthiness this thing would extract from my carpet. The solution goes on clear but the dirty water tank looked as if I was brewing coffee. When you dump the dirty water, I recommend having your emotional support animal with you. Having to emotionally cope with the dirt and grime this thing picked up was the only downside to using it. Between myself, a teenager, and my German Shepherd Mix, I figured we tracked in some dirt...but I was in NO WAY expecting what I saw. Im just glad that funk-nastiness is no longer in my carpet. I highly recommend this little machine. My carpet looks better than the day I moved in.

06-06-2025For the price & size of machine it cleans very good! I was owner/ op of Carpet and Upholstery cleaning biz, for a small home cleaning unit this is been worth money for cleaning Sofa with pet stains & dirt. You need to Dry Vacuum it a few times in each area as you finish cleaning. I also put a Box Fax blowing on Sofa when completed cleaning. 2 to 3 hours max and its dry. I get it fairly wet due to Accidents from animals, when not feeling well cats will urinate in areas other than litter box. I had 2 cats with bladder infection and this cleaner is used weekly. I add deodorizer to soapy side and rince side. Works well! This cleaning machine will save you Hundreds of dollars in a Sofa cleaning, that if you go slow and Rince sofa well it will be almost or as good as a Professional Cleaning ! Really. Im not paid or nor get freebies for any Reviews.
