> 24 hourThis is a very light weight printer, but dont let its size deter you from purchasing it. The printer is very easy to use. Its scanning and copying functions are easy as well. It is small and fits easily on a desk top and is very nice looking with its brown and black colors. It is not a tremendously fast printer, but works for the print jobs that I have. I would recommend this printer.

> 24 hourI will be honest that my experience with this machine is extremely limited. To wit: I in fact never printed anything with it. I attempted a scan, with limited success. I was able to boot the machine up without too much difficulty, and was able to find it on the wireless network with little trouble. Shortly afterwards, it gave me a message to download updates. No problem. After it rebooted, it gave me a another update message. While initiating an attempt to download this update, the machine lost the wireless connection. After that it attempted to update forever. I was unable to find any way of fixing this doing troubleshooting on my own. I called HP support and I will say their support was rather helpful, but in about 5-10 minutes they came to the conclusion that my purchase was now a rather large paperweight, not a printer/scanner/anything truly functional. They sent me a replacement that arrived in a few days. I purchased the machine roughly 8-9 months after initial release. I found customer reviews on other websites that described similar problems with similar resolutions. I rate the machine so low as it appears that no resolution is forthcoming from the company, and I needed the machine to last as long as possible - not for the 3 years I can get covered through an extended warranty! Rather the replace the machine every so often after a failed update, I just chose to return it and get something completely different. EDIT 2/19/12 TO clarify the above: The unit I purchased died about 45min out of the box. Based on my review of other customer reviews, this appears to be the result of a defect intrinsic to all like units. I purchased the unit several months after initial release, and several months after other customers had posted regarding this issue. HPs customer service was excellent, insofar as they shipped a replacement after one of their reps had done trouble-shooting with me over the phone and declared it deceased. However, this was not adequate for my purposes as the defect appears to be present in all units, the defect (if it occurs) destroys the unit, and the only redress available several months after product release is to replace the unit under warranty. Once the warranty runs out (I had a 2 year extension) then you must purchase a completely new unit. For me, that was a deal breaker. I felt that a different solution should be available this far after release. So HP either cannot or will not correct this defect. EDIT 7/20/13 In case people are not clear on the defect I am describing, if the machine experiences any interruption while attempting to perform a software update in terms of the wireless connection or power outage, then it will remain frozen in an attempt to update whenever it is turned on and is not functional and cannot be fixed unless completely replaced.

> 24 hourPicked one of these printers up because I wanted a printer in my family room, where I do most of my computer work. Most of what I looked at seemed to be a few metal parts and lots of cheap plastic. When I picked up the HP Envy printer, I immediately felt the difference. Heavy and solid construction. The looks of the printer are unlike any other I have seen. It looks more like a DVD player than a printer. It fits into my living area, while other printers looked like office equipment - not what I wanted in my family room. Unboxing the unit showed that the packaging was high quality and the printer had its own bag keeping it safe from scratches. Hookup consisted of plugging in the electric cable and turning the printer on. From there, the printer guided me through the setup, including telling me when to insert the ink cartridges and how to set up the wireless connection. The only thing I needed to have was my network security password, as I have a secured Wi-fi network. Connected to the network 1st time after I keyed in the password. Installing the software on my computer was quick and easy. No surprises, but HP does load their installation with a bunch of junk you probably dont want. Just deselect anything you dont want installed. Everything works fine. Usual good quality prints and scans. The printer found some firmware updates and asked me if I wanted them installed. I did and they went in without any problem. Same for an update to the computer software for the printer. This printer uses two ink cartridges - black and a color. I like this approach as the cartridge design has the print heads in the cartridge. Change inks and you get a new print head each time. I have used several other brands of ink jet printers that have permanent print heads as part of the printer. These always tend to clog for me, over time. With the HP cartridge design used here, I have never had bad prints, or clogged print heads on the other Photo printer I have from HP. Ive also used HP inkjets at work for years and they just print - day in and day out. Some find a benefit to having separate ink cartridges for each color. Ive had two printers with this arrangement and found that I was replacing the various colors at about the same time. The extra parts just amounted to extra things that could go wrong, and added cost. The HP Envy printer has some neat features like the touch screen and the retractable paper catcher. While neat features, they seem to be likely problem areas down the road (after the mfg warranty expires), so I bought an extended warranty on the printer - giving me 4 years of coverage. Hope this printer works long term as good as it looks out of the box. HP did a great design job, integrating an office device into a home environment.

> 24 hourTired of buying cheap printers that jam, misfeed or constantly have wireless printing problems? Then buy this one. I have never been so happy with a printer. Effortless wireless set up and perfect printing every time.....with a scanner to boot! ANd it has a cool, non printer look to it.

> 24 hourI absolutely love this printer. It was so easy to set up to my wireless network. I must admit that I bought this printer over a less expensive printer only because I liked the styling. I am so glad that I did buy it. It is well worth the money. It is so sleek and looks great in my home office. Whenever you ask it to print, only then does the door open and the paper catcher slides out. Whenever you take your printed copy from the printer, it automatically closes and you are back to the sleek look of this printer. Photos come out beautifully. I cant say enough good things about this printer. I think I will buy my daughter and her family one too!

> 24 hourAfter an internet download so it would work with Mac Lion, it now functions, is compact, and has caused no additional problems yet. Previous HP printers have survived only 11 months so it is a little early to tell.
