Bought 4 of these for gamer daughters VR set up. They are just as easy to set up as the 1.0 units and have improved performance. Cost is more but worth it for the improved performance. Dont forget to order wall mounts for these!!!

It was easy to set up and install. Once you plug it in and turn on SteamVR it takes care of the setup on its own with only a single button press. You dont even need to reconfigure your playspace, it just integrates itself right in. It does not come with a mounting bracket, so make sure you pick one up when you buy this.

Im disappointed with this product. The cord is far shorter than the one that Valve sells, but this one costs over fifty dollars more. I would recommend waiting for a valve restock to get base stations instead of buying this from HTC.

50$ more for a shorter cable and no mounting hardware compared to the one directly sold from Valve.

Same station that came with the index. Plugged in and conected to the system automatically. The only difference is the power cord which is slightly shorter and a different shape on the plug. No mounting hardware and $50 more than if you got from valve directly... But they are sold out at the time of writing. A good mount is only $10-20 so if you need one now, this is worth it.

While the product was fine, these are designed for Europe and if you are buying them for US you need adapter or it wont work. (Just wanted to update, was going to return this item and while re-boxing it found included adapter so increased one star. Bottom line, if you order from them, they include the necessary adapter but it will be in bottom of the package so dont miss it when you pull out the small box containing the base station)

Valve confirmed that this base station is dead. We have an Index and it gave us a warning that it wasn’t functioning. They used the serial number and found it broken. THIS IS RIDICULOUS: WITHIN 74 DAYS! It’s been on a pole anchored to the wall the entire time. No damage on our part, just randomly died. Our other two base stations have lasted since October of last year.

Pros: These are identical to base stations i got from valve. Works like a charm. However, I have few cons that are making me consider if I should return these and wait until valve starts reselling. Cons: I bought two, and both are significantly louder than base stations that came with valve index. Very annoying tinnitus hum. No mounts! ?? This costed $50 more.. cmon man. Lastly, the wire is shorter than valve index stations. I needs to be at least 2-3 feet longer. Edit: Noise is not much louder than the valve base station.. it was more to the fact that any time you add another base station, frequency goes up and the sound gets louder. I have four, which make it really loud.

Ordered 2 for my Valve Index to replace Base Station 1.0s. Paired easily and worked perfectly with my existing mounts.

Now with wide-area tracking, base station 2.0 powers the presence and immersion of room-scale, virtual reality by helping the Vive Pro or Vive Pro eye headsets and Controllers track their exact locations. Features wireless syncing.
