Easy to overclock with Intel XTU software. I set the all core clock to 4.8Ghz and let it be power and thermal limited. Runs at 4.8Ghz in with 20% utilization in iRacing with a 2080 Super. I’ll need water cooling to really push it when using more cores that that speed.

If youre on a budget, playing at 1080p and want pretty stellar performance this is the CPU for you. Its given me zero problems with games like Forza Horizon 5, Anthem, A Plagues Tale, Sea of Theives and so on paired with a 1660Super. The GPU is very much a bottle neck and I still get 80-100fps on high or ultra settings. If you need something to hold you for a little while till you can upgrade or even stuck with this CPU, I can definitely recommend it.

I bought this to upgrade my gaming desktop. It can run anything you want so long as its paired with a good GPU. What disappointed me was the lack of a stock cooler or thermal solution. I understand leaving that out of the cheaper models like the 11400F, but this is the flagship i5 and it should really be included, especially given that the stock cooler is super cheap anyway and AMDs competing models all have a great cooler included.

Being an i5 type this is the base of Intel processors. You can get the i5 types in all generations including the latest 13th-generation processors that just came out. Do your homework and see which generation/i version (i5, i7, i9) will do the best job for you. Just buying the cheapest is as foolish as buying the most expensive for no real reason. Keep in mind most i9 versions are 125 watts or more and cooling those processors is a skill in itself.
