> 24 hourI bought this to move a wireless keyboard and mouse between my PC and MAC. Not only does it work very well, I was also able to use it to move the Printer back and forth as well since my keyboard and mouse use one USB port. If I bring up the MAC first it searches for the mouse before it sends power to the device and the MAC will complain it needs a mouse. But as soon as I hit the button it say, Never Mind! I found the mouse! Really nice unit for the money.

> 24 hourMy mom wanted a new computer but did not want to deal with reloading all her older programs and we werent even sure the old programs would work on Windows 7 (office 97 and word perfect 6.0 - yeah, the really really old ones!) so we got this little switch and she is running 2 systems simultaneously with one monitor and one keyboard mouse wireless combo. Which is awesome, because it actually leaves an open usb port on the KVM hub, that she plugged her printer into! Yeah, no kidding, she is sharing the printer same as the keyboard, but each computer thinks the printer is directly connected which saves a ton of networking/sharing hassles. This switch saved us a lot of work and effort. Love it!

> 24 hourAs far as switching between 2 PCs are concerned, the product works. However... this model combines mouse and keyboard into single output plug -- Im not sure if this is a good idea. Yes, it frees up an extra USB port on the PC. But in my experience, all the other USB ports on the PC are rendered unusable. Im using a powered USB hub, a flash drive and a printer plugged separately into 3 open USB ports -- all were unrecognizable. After unplugging the KVM switch, they all work fine. Note: the GCS42UW6 does not include audio port or remote switch, and no hot keys. UPDATE: The

> 24 hourNice VGA KVM switch reliable small footprint, sturdy wires. Overall a good value. Why do I like this item? No software to install, this is a electronic switch press a button on the top of the switch and your Keyboard, Mouse, and Video are switched from one Computer to Another. I use a Mac & PC and it works well switching between the two, the only challenge is on the PC where the video has to be on the PC during Boot-up so that it sets the resolution to the screen instead of a default value. But its a minor issue. Setup is nice. 2 Video cables with a USB integrated into the video is provided connect the 1 of each of the video cables to each PC and the video cable from the existing monitor along with keyboard and mouse to the Switch and your all set, Love the fact that there is no software installation required. Had a Belkin switch that required software or had a very flimsy switch that broke inside 2 weeks (paper thin wires) and it was a pain and the switching was inconsistent and slow. This is quite fast (under 5 seconds for it to recognize the keyboard/mouse, video is much less) I also have a 4 usb hub for a pen-tablet and printer, all switch without a problem. Have been using this for almost a month now and I am very satisfied.

> 24 hourSimple and effective. I use this solely for USB switching with a wireless HP keyboard and wireless Logitech mouse. It switches super fast and it only uses a single USB connector on each machine.

> 24 hourIll be honest, I actually havent used it (the GCS42U)yet, but I called IOGEAR tech support because I was having trouble with the I did buy (GCS32U). It turns out the GCS32U doesnt work well with a wireless Keyboard and Mouse that uses a single USB connection. They state that this (GCS42U) does. Hope this helps someone to not go through the pain I did...
