> 3 dayFor years I bought the rebuild kits, pulled the pump, tore it apart, changed out the rubber parts and reinstalled. Sometimes, it worked. Now I pull the pump and install the new one and it always works.

Greater than one weekI have rebuilt several these in the past. I never will again. The cost differential isnt significant enough for me. This came on time, undamaged and I was able to use credit card points meaning it essentially cost me nothing. Ive never been disappointed with any Jabsco product Ive used. Recommendation without reservation.

> 3 dayWorks like brand new...wait a minute, it is new. This is my spare but an identical one works better than the one that came with the head when it was new.

> 3 dayso far so good, swapped out the old pump assembly with just removing the base and a few hoses , and replacing the flap valve on the bottom. The pipe also has the joker valve in it as well. So the entire pump is complete , took me about 15 to 20 min max , probably a lot less. The result is the pump works excellent . Definitely a great replacement.

> 3 dayMy head was struggling to flush. I heard about re-building valves etc.. spend the money (very little extra) and just buy the whole pump assembly! This works like a dream and was minimally gross.

18-11-2024This item is great if you have an older Jabsco MSD (head) and cant figure out which rebuild kit to choose. It installs quickly and easily, though none of the paperwork in the box tells you how. (It is all about new head installation.) Go to their website and watch the videos. It DOES come with a joker valve (one review said it does not), but for some reason, only one mounting screw. ( Not sure why one... 4 are needed, but being stainless going into plastic, your 4 old ones will work fine.) Big surprise (not) - this part is $30 higher at your local boat parts store... Job not even as messy as I feared. I made sure the MSD was flushed with clean (lake) water, and darn sure holding tank was pumped out. Maybe 1/2 cup of water came out of supply hoses. Not sure these Jabsco heads ever work great, but if you have to deal with one, this is a fairly painless way to go about it. Now my head is the latest model!
