Jabsco Manual Pump Assembly f/29090-Series

> 3 dayI have a 1998 REGAL Commodore 258 with a Manual Toilet Model 29090-0000. The unit is plumbed through a saltwater seacock and is above the water line. The toilet is about 8-10 feet from the seacock. The problem was that the pump handle would not go up and down ... possible corrosion issues. Get some old towels out to absorb any liquids that might seep out. The first thing I did was unscrew the 6 screws holding the pump to the base (4) and elbo (2). They came right out. I used a long craftsman 12 screw driver. Thanks to a tip I read on another review. The unit comes with 2 important rubber seal/checkvalve type gaskets. No other parts were needed. The second thing I did was with an electric screwdriver loosened the stainless steel clamps. Third was disconnecting the existing hoses from the pump. Since the pump was now movable, is was easier to get the hoses in a position to twist and pull them off. Once the old pump was set aside, I poured 1 liter of water down the toilet water source input hose that is connected to the seacock to make sure there was a clear path to the bottom of the boat. The boat was up on a lift. Water flowed out at a steady rate. Next reconnect everything, and pour 2 liters into toilet bowl for a prime. Lowered boat into the saltwater, pumped about 6-8 times and water began filling in the bowl. Ran about 4-5 gallons through the system checking for leaks. Works great. Nice to have a functioning head!

Greater than one weekWe bought our boat used and had no idea how and when our head had been maintained. So when we had backflow and leaking, we replaced the entire assembly kit. It now works PERFECTLY! The price on Amazon was way better than West Marine, so it was worth the wait. Just wish we had bought the deal with the macerator pump...ours died about 3 weeks later!

> 3 dayPlanned obsolescence. Gaskets and parts jus stop working well in the third year. On the third replacement in 13 years. Cheap

> 3 dayWe had an older version of this product which had been on our when we bought it, I expect it came with the boat new so it was 10 likely years old. This newer version pumbs much easier and the locking function gives you peace of mind at night.

Greater than one weekSave your fingers and frustration. A long (10+) phillips screwdriver would make instillation in tight spaces much easier and reduce cursing. An extra slotted flange screw is supplied free, but probably will not be needed. Be sure to keep your 4 existing (different) base screws, you need to reuse them

> 3 daySolved my head problems! I didnt realize the pump was so important. I went from having to pump about 10-20 times to get the flush water coming in, to only having to pump about 2-3 times. I shouldve replaced this piece on my boat long ago (my old pump was at least 10 years old).

> 3 dayPerfect replacement pump four our toilet in our boat. Very easy to install. One thing to be aware of... it did not come with a joker valve installed in the output fitting. I didnt know this until after installing the pump when I noticed I was getting back fill from the holding tank. I guess you have to buy this separately, which I did and now all works fine.

> 3 dayNeed to take care when fitting to the waste hose. The joint will leak if the hose angle puts pressure on the toilet outlet.
