> 24 hourPurchased for a VHT Special 12/20 head, and very pleased with the results. These tubes really opened up the sound, and generally you can hear/feel the extra punch now. I was looking to increase clarity/articulation, as this amp is known to be a little dark with some configs. While not as helpful as my EQ pedal, these tubes did, IMO, improve the overall quality of the tone. If I could A/B tubes easily, Ive absolutely no doubt in my mind these are superior to the stock tubes.

> 24 hourThe Yellow Jacket Triode configuration works exactly as described. Installation was about 3 minutes. These tubes tame my Randall RT2/50 power amp and allow me to have power section saturation without blowing my windows out and getting the neighbors on the phone to the cops. The resulting sound is full and ballsy, but at at a reasonable volume. With very efficient speakers (say Celestion Blues or other alnicos like Ted Webers) this throttled-down power section will still give a startling amount of volume, so the YJS triodes wont relegate your amp to the bedroom. Perfect practice volume, and maybe enough for a small club. Highly recommended.

> 24 hourIve got a set of JJs that came in a 69 Princeton Reverb I bought online. They sounded harsh and bright in that amp. I put them into an Excelsior and they sound pretty good, still bright and hard sounding, but the Eminence Legend speaker turns that sound into a nice quack/chime. They are louder than Tung Sols, bigger sounding and more texture than the TS or the EH. They pale in comparison to a good set of RCAs in any amp Ive put them in. RCA is THE 6V6 to have, but these will do.

> 24 hour[Used in a Ceriatone Dumble Overdrive Special style amp substituting for 6V6gt.] Outstanding cleans: nice crisp highs and a bit more bass than I heard with my old-stock (other brand) 6v6gt tubes which had plenty of life left in them... just chalk it up to design differences? The new JJ tubes even have more clean headroom and theyre a little quieter at high volume = more on the top and bottom! That surprised me! The trans-conductance matching was perfect (confirmed on my own tube tester and in-circuit) and this let me dial the bias in right where I wanted it. This matching is especially important to avoid clipping from a tube that is out-of-range, otherwise youll compromise your bias setting with one tube too high and the other low. I set these quite a bit colder (19.5mv) than the prior set (straddling @ 24mv) but they JJs showed no signs of clipping on the oscilloscope and were pleasing to my ear. Note that these JJ 6v6s tubes are physically larger (longer/taller) than typical 6v6gt tubes by about 1 (2.2cm). For most it wont be a problem but if youve *very* tight clearances in your amp chassis it might be an issue so please be aware. Id rate this tube set + matching service six stars, if I could. Im tempted to buy a spare set now just to put them aside for the future.

> 24 hourI recently acquired a 1965 Fender Deluxe Amp. After going thru and thouroly cleaning, I noticed one of the output tubes, 6v6, was visibly blown. So, I started researching replacement tubes online at all of the music outlets. Then, for some reason, I happened to search AMAZON and was happily surprised that they carry all sorts or tubes and musical gear! Ive read all kinds of mixed reviews about all the tube brands, including the JJs... Then I discovered that, like guitar strings, there are only a few manufacturers of vacum tubes left in the world... The price was right on the JJs so I gave them a shot. All I can say is, all of the hype Ive heard all of my 30+ years of being a professional guitarist, about there is nothing like playing thru a 65 Fender Deluxe... Was all very true!! I installed the JJs, plugged the old girl in, and was and still amazed at the most awesome guitar tone Ive ever played thru! Getting that tube tone is no problem for me with all of the great Line 6 and other emulation technology amps on the market, But, nothing can compare to the FEEL of playing thru tubes! The JJs work and sound great!! Also, at an affordable price.
