Kaytee Chinchilla Chiller Granite Stone

I rated comfort as 5 stars, only because our chinchilla LOVES to lay on it. I wouldn’t know personally how comfortable it is (Hahahaha.)

It really helps my chinchillas get a little less hot in the summer! Worth it

Chin loves it

These chill blocks are nicely sized, easy to clean, and help keep my chinchilla from overheating. The one thing I don’t like is that the corners are sharp which concerns me. It’s probably unlikely, but it’s possible my chinchilla could hurt herself on the corners. If they were slightly rounded, or maybe covered, I would feel more confident.

Perhaps my chinchillas are never overly warm, but they don’t bother to use this as anything but a stepping stone to get somewhere else. One of my lil guys used this the first day to nap on, but nothing for months since then. Sadly a bit of a waste of money unless your home is warmer than they like.

My Chinchillas Ash and Bailey use this product a lot. We placed it in the center of their cage. I would recommend not placing this item directly under a leaking water bottle. Especially for Chinchillas, drinking dirty water off of the item may be dangerous. I am very pleased with this item, and would strongly recommend buying this item for your Chinchilla.

The Chin-Chiller itself is a great item. My little guy sprawls out on it when he gets too warm and keeping it in the fridge beforehand helps it stay cooler longer. Overall its a good buy! My only qualm was when I opened the box, one out of the two I had ordered had broken in half. A layer of bubble wrap around each probably wasnt sufficient protection. That being said, I would still recommend this to anyone whos chinchilla needs some extra help keeping cool but be prepared for the potential of receiving a broken one.
