> 3 dayWe have bought several of these for our bunnies to always keep one of the chillers in the freezer at a time. I was skeptical at first that the buns would like them, but they definitely do sit on or near them on hot days. We keep the house a good temperature with the AC (always remember to leave your AC on for your pets when you arent at home!), but everyone wants to sit on a cold block of stone every once in a while.

> 3 dayThe Chin chiller is a great addition to any chinchilla cage, but I took a star away because there was writing on the back of the package when I opened it. Not really sure why, maybe it has to do with the way it was packaged but I thought they shouldn’t be writing anything directly on the product.

> 3 dayIf you have a Chinchilla, you need one of these cool pads. We have shared our lives with Chinchillas for over 11 years. Snubbles, our first Chin, came to live with us when he was 8, and he got one of these his first summer with us. Temps were getting up over 100, and even though we have air conditioning, Snubbles was looking a little lethargic, and this cool pad did the trick for him. Eddie came to live with us the next year, at age 3 and will be 14 in October. We got him a Chinchilla Chiller right away. Snubbles loved his and spent most of the day sleeping and chillin out on it, even in winter. Eddie is a bit more diffident about his cool pad. Mostly he pees on it. Thats okay, because these are washable. Basically they are a slab of granite colored Corian countertop material. Pee can be scrubbed off. The only thing in a Chinchilla cage that could actually stain them is rust, but you can sand that off if you feel you need to. Most Chinchillas are like Snubbles, and love these. Even if your Chin is like Eddie, and doesnt spend much time on it, you still need to get one. Chinchillas evolved in the cool temperatures of the mountains of Peru. They can not handle heat at all. They can die very quickly if they get overheated. They need to have one of these cool pads in the cage especially in the summertime so they can cool down quickly if they need to. In my experience, you do not need to pop this in the freezer. It is a stone-like material and is naturally cooler than room temperature. Get one. Your Chinchilla will thank you for it.

> 3 dayAlthough I think this is a good idea and I would recommend, (mine did NOT arrive broken so that was a plus) both of my chinchillas just don’t care for it for whatever reason. So, give it a try but just know that it might be a flop depending on your pets :)
