> 3 dayI mostly solder through hole so this particular solder is a bit too thin for my taste. All in all excellent quality. 63/37 makes for good looking joints.

> 3 dayNever used 63/37 before, but needed to solder a miniUSB power socket onto a PCB. Hit all pins with no mess, and I used it to finish soldering the through-hole parts onto my project. It is now the only solder on my bench.

> 3 dayThis review is not of the Kester solder, but the seller, Kimco Distributors. I ordered a 1 lb roll of Kester 44, and when it came the spool was covered in sloppy packing tape, and the actual solder spool had a birds nest. I take that term from bass fishing - its meant to describe the mess you get when you use a baitcasting reel (which has a spinning spool) and dont stop the rotation before your lure hits the water. As I pulled solder off this spool, it was coming out from underneath many layers of solder which was deeper into the roll, but physically on top. So I kept getting kinks. I managed to cut a bunch of it away (had to throw away solder) and got down to the deeper part of the spool, where it was coiled tightly, but now still, the solder is coming out from inside of the spool. Its possible that this was screwed up at the Kester factory, but I doubt it. Is this seller re-spooling their solder, and doing a sloppy job at it? It makes me question whether Ive really got genuine Kester 44 at all, in fact.
