After years of struggling to solder a single connection, I upgraded my equipment from the $20 kit you get at hardware stores to a Hakko set. But I still didnt change my solder out until a friend who works in electronics told me to get this spool. While the price is high if you dont solder often, trust me, this is worth it 100x over. I went from barely being able to make a connection to feeling like a pro. I rebuilt a melted engine wiring harness where I had to cut and reuse nearly every connector because of lack of availability. After soldering no less than 200 wires together, from 14-20awg wire sizes. I still have more than 3/4 of this spool left. Im sure it will last me at least another few years. Make sure to protect yourself against the fumes. Either good ventilation, or be dumb like me and hold your breath for small repairs.

I am building a very large N Scale train layout and I have used several different solders. This is now the only solder I will use. Super easy to work with, quick melt and always a good joint. I highly recommend.

Best solder on the market at this price point. Perfect for amateurs and pros alike! Price is right and of course, since it’s Amazon, the shipping time is too.

I wish I had discovered this solder earlier. I work with kids doing kit soldering, and some solders have very noxious fumes, which I guess is my fault for not realizing the different kinds of flux, etc. Being very fine (0.5mm) and eutectic (lowest melting point possible for Pb/Sn) it is a dream to work with, and seems odorless.
