Kester 24-6337-8800 50 Activated Rosin Cored Wire Solder Roll, 245 No-Clean, 63/37 Alloy, 0.031 Diameter

Best solder I’ve found when working with simple circuit board applications. Doesn’t smell horrible and is very easy to flow without a lot of gross flux. Have been using this for years. Worth it.

Have been using that brand for years and once my old supply ran out, I got a new roll and it was just as high quality as the old ones.

Does NOT flow well, like Kester rosin core solder does, unless your leads are pre-tinned or you use separate flux. Ill be tossing this now that Ive verified the OTHER Kester is the GOOD one:

My old solder was from the 1970s, but I was having issues with it not flowing cleanly. I decided to try a newer roll, which has the same specs. For some reason, this one performs better.

Use it when soldering flight control boards on RC aircraft.

I love this solder. I researched for a long time to decide what type I needed after I ran out of my chinesium stuff from 5+ years ago. I primarily use this for building drones as well as other DIY electronics projects. Best solder out there and I know this will last me awhile.

Ok so I tried maybe 6 or 7 solders. Lead free is just garbage dont bother. I had super thick 1.6mm solder my dad gave which was amazing but wasnt exactly easy to use due to size. I then got some cheaper chinese solder and it was ok. But this stuff. Just WOW. It flows easier, melts at a lower temp, IT COOLS SHINY. And price per gram its actually cheaper than the china stuff. 100% recommend. Just try it its cheap enough. I want to try the .4mm but its twice the price -_-

Dont let the slightly higher price scare you away. After the first use, youll understand why is more expensive.

I purchased this soldering wire on the recommendation of many an RC enthusiast. I initially had some difficulty making this solder “stick” to PCB pads (@350C), but after cleaning and recoating my soldering tip, thereby removing my old soldering alloy and replacing it with the new, it was smooth sailing. The solder flows easily and sets quickly once the tip is removed. It also results in a lot less flux residue than what I am use to. Minimal cleanup, if any. Highly recommended. Thank you for shipping to South Africa for me. Could not find Kester at all, locally.
