This USB drive receives the lowest star I can give it for its inability to act like a USB 3.0 drive. The performance I have experienced with this drive is on par with the high end of USB 2.0 drives. I should have done my research before purchasing because it seems that many folks have had the same problem with this drive. I should be clear. I tested the performance of this drive using a laptop with USB 3.0 controller that had the most up to date drivers and used CrystalDiskMark 3.0.3 for the test. My performance numbers are as follows. All 5 1000MB I:62% (19/30GB) Read [MB/s] Write [MB/s] Seq 97.57 41.27 512K 89.2 4.986 4K 5.938 .044 4KQD32 6.616 .052 Compared to most other USB 3.0 drives and what the specs of the standard are supposed to support, these are awful numbers. I didnt get a random junk drive either as I have read much from other testers on the horrible performance of this drive. I do not recommend this drive to anyone. For this kind of performance save your money and get a USB 2.0 drive. For USB 3.0 performance go with a more expensive alternative.

3 star because it’s Not true a true 3.0 usb stick. I’ve tried running Linux mint and Ubuntu on it for school and the boot up time it took was forever when trying to use my other brands of usb 3.0 the boot up time was in an instant. If you’re using it just to store files, pictures, and etc.. it’ll work just fine though, I purchased 2 needed them for school but now just using them to store files on.

Speed test using Blackmagic Disk Speed Test on a mac without reformatting. 1gb Stress Test: 22.4 MB/s (write) 109.1 MB/s (read) 5gb Stress Test: 20 MB/s (write) 109.7 MB/s (read) Bought this to backup Windows laptop OS and Recovery Drive which is a bit of an overkill.

Eh, this was one of the cheapest drives I could find that seemed to have somewhat of a good speed at the time. Noted it certainly isnt amazing and leaves much to be desired but I guess it works for what I needed it for.

I have always been a fan of Kingston products and this flash drive is no exception! These drives are affordable enough that I dont mind when someone doesnt return it to me. Anyone that has used a flash drive in an office environment knows exactly what I am talking about! :)

I love this little device. One of the best flash drives Ive owned, and obtained at a smashing price in my opinion.

Not the fastest you can get. Im getting 16 mb/s of write speed and I think there are other products that can go as fast as 60mb/s. Wish I have researched some more before buying this one, but it is just fine if you dont care a lot about speed.
