> 3 dayI originally ordered this tape to put under my sports bra band as I was getting some major chafing. It worked like a charm and I now use it on every run to prevent chafing. As my mileage has increased while training for a marathon, my feet have really started to hurt towards the end of the runs and throughout the days following. While researching some remedies, I saw a suggestion to use KT tape. I was skeptical but after running a 16 miler was willing to give it a go. Taped up the feet and was astonished at how much better they felt!! I’ve done various types of stretches, soaked them in warm water with epsom salt, tried compression socks. None of that has come close to the relief I got from the tape. KT tape is now one of my must haves for running!

> 3 dayFirst off - the only reason I’m even taking away one star is because I wish it came in a not precut version. Or does it and I missed it? Idk, but my issue with the precut is it isn’t the right size for anything I use it for, so even though precut seems convenient I always have to cut it anyways and end up wasting a ton of tape. But anyways, the product itself is great - IF you apply it correctly. Everyone here with adhesion issues claim they applied it properly or applied it “exactly how their physical therapist did it” but I’ve been able to put this stuff on and it last 3 days so….. I can’t imagine they’re doing it properly. Is more expensive tape better? Probably, but I’ll tell you how I apply this and for me it works just fine. Clean skin seems obviously but I’ll say it anyways. Use an alcohol wipe if you have oily skin. But aside from the obvious, there’s 2 key tips to making it stick that I’d be willing to bet people aren’t doing. 1. The first like.. 1.5-2” of the tape - just stick that on your skin without pulling it tight. Then hold that area down while pulling the tape tightly over the area you’re treating. And then the last 1.5-2” same thing, don’t pull that part tight, just hold the end of the tightly pulled tape section and just stick the end on without pulling. It needs that bit of leeway at the beginning and end otherwise yes, it’s just gonna roll up into itself and not stick. 2. Once it’s applied you need to rub it to create some friction/heat. It WILL NOT stick long if you don’t do this. Be careful at the ends to not accidentally pull it back while rubbing it, but this part is key to getting it to stick. I have several ailments I use this for but lately I’ve been using it for my plantar fasciitis rather than your traditional plantar fasciitis fixes. Wearing shoes and insoles with arch support seemed to be making it worse for me, so I went in the opposite direction and started wearing more minimalist/neutral shoes with wide toe box, and focusing on stretching and strengthening my feet. It’s helping, but sometimes I still have pain and that’s when I use this tape. It gives me just enough support without being as extreme/unnatural as insoles. I suppose I could use a compression sock for the same effect, but I like using the tape because I can use more or less tape depending on how much support I want.

Greater than one weekThis is not the genuine KT tape. I have been buying KT tape from places like Jewel etc, and it has been my go-to for knee pain, as well as any other injuries that may pop up. The store-bought KT tape is amazing, it is very comfortable, the fabric feels nice and soft, and provides the needed support. Store-bought tape would last me forever, as the adhesive is strong enough, but also gentle on the skin. Ordered this stuff, and even out of the box, it did not look the same. Muted color, less stretch, and fabric felt plastic. Upon application, the edges would begin peeling off immediately. I have gone to sleep with tape, and woken up with no tape. It does not last 1-3 days as advertised. The store-bought tape would last me well past the 3 days and I would only remove it to let my skin breathe, and not because it fell off. Don’t waste your money here. This is not the genuine product. It does the job but for the same price you could actually have a working product that would stay on the entire 3 days or longer (yes, the original tape, not even the Pro).

Greater than one weekMy daughter plays competitive sports and had a recent surgery . After her return to the game she loves I was anxious but one of her teammates shared this tape at a 2 day Vball tournament and it helps support. I quickly got on Amazon n ordered several! Must have !!

> 3 dayI have really bad planter fasciitis and have been using KT tape for sore muscles for years. It’s really great and works well but at the price point, having to use 3 strands every day wasn’t great. I wish it was a little stickier so it could last a few days even with showering.

> 3 dayIve been using this tape over the past couple years on my tennis elbows. I went through 4 boxes with varying results. A year ago I would have given it an average 3 star rating but now Ive figured out how to make it work the best, I think it totally deserves 5 stars when used properly. First of all, when the tape is on, it is really effective. I feel a lot of support on my elbow as long as the tape is on. It did take me a while to figure out how to make it stay longer. If the tape has been produced a while ago or box has been opened for a while, then the glue may lose power. Obviously. My leftover box from last years injury didnt work quite well this year. The tapes would start to peel off shortly after I put them on, even though I wiped my arm with rubbing alcohol. Also, even though I didnt use my first two boxes last year with rubbing alcohol, I felt that they were somehow old even when newly purchased. The glue just seemed thinner and not as shiny as the boxes I have right now. Unfortunately it is impossible to tell if you have an old box until you open it. For the best results, definitely clean with soap first, then wipe the area with rubbing alcohol before applying the tapes. (Last year I only used soap to clean my arm and the tape will stay for no more than 12 hours.) And absolutely avoid touching the glue with your fingers. As soon as the tape is on your skin, press on and rub it quickly to generate heat around the area so the heat will activate the glue ingredient to work better. My current box will stick for about 3 days, hardly affected by sweating. Even though some edges will peel very slightly, it doesnt progress further and will hold the support very firmly even after multiple showers. Normally I peel it off myself before the tape falls off because I want to avoid skin sensitivity from frequently and prolonged application and excessive usage of the surrounding muscles supporting the pain spot. Depending on where you use it, picking the uncut roll may be better so you can cut it to a longer length. I just find the pre-cut roll more convenient because of the way I use it, especially because they come with round corners. Whether you buy the pre-cut or continuous roll, you should always cut the corners so that all corners are round. It greatly prevents peeling. [Updated in July 2014] Im returning the rating back to 3 stars because of too frequent occurrences of the failed glue and the skin irritation from the glue+rubbing alcohol. At this point Ive completely switched to Kinesio Tex Gold tape. The Kinesio tape is thinner (fabric+glue), breathes better, water resistant, and can stay on skin for as long as 5 days. The KT tape is thicker, when stretched with the same degree as Kinesio tape, will peel in less than 20 minutes. However, I still want to stress that if you can keep it on, it is still extremely effective. The problem is that its hard to keep it on. It also gives me a lot of skin irritation after more frequent re-applying within, say the same week. If I use Kinesio, I only need to put it on once and it lasts for days. If I use KT Tape, it will peel off and I need re-use rubbing alcohol and re-apply the tape the next time I exercise, subsequently causing a lot more skin irritation. KT Tape is only a little cheaper than Kinesio, with a lot more re-application and failure to stay, I actually run out a lot faster than Kinesio tape. At this point it ceased to become an effective option for me.
