Pros: All colors are very pigmented, perfect for accents and detailing Color 906 White Gold can be mixed with other colors to get a metallic color Good range of golds to use Cons: Packaging, since the pans come in a paper box holder, honesty its not much of a con if you have a place to put them in Pans arent full size so they wouldnt fit most plattetes You may get packaging in a non English Language (I did, not sure what language) Some colors can be quite semi transparent but with the right mix of water this issue can be avoided Honesty Im in love with these, I cannot recommend them enough since theyre much more cheaper than Fintec and a good alternative, plus 906 is a great color to mix with other watercolors to create metallic. Packaging is the only issue some people would face but honesty the stars are based more on the paints themselves but I strongly recommend On shipping I got it quickly

I used some of this paint to add a few embellishments to a Valentines day card that I made for someone special and it turned out stunning. They loved it! High quality paints, reasonably priced, a generous amount of paints, a tiny bit goes a long way. Highly recommend and will buy again.

I’m just a cardmaking newbie but I love this metallic watercolor set. It works great for adding a small shiny touch to my cards. You can see the wonderful shiny sheen it gives off in the bear card photo. The only thing about Kuretake paints is that it comes in a thin card stock like tray instead of plastic or metal so I don’t like the packaging but the product is awesome! Highly recommend!

The colors are terrific however they take a lot of time and water to activate. My complaint is the packaging. The plastic pans are set in a thin cardboard tray but are bigger that other full pans so they don’t fit in a standard palette box. (Pic is a comparison to White Nights full pans). Got to find a tin they will fit in. Huge pans does mean good value for the money.

The pans have a variety of golds and almost platinum which are quite lovely. There is even a white glitter choice that can be added to Christmas and winter themes. Absolutely love this set for accenting homemade cards!

Beautiful on black paper

Nice product! Worked well for my hand made holiday cards. It is pretty sheer at first but i was able to make it thicker. Only disappointment is that it is not in a metal or plastic storage container but I might have missed that in the description. I’ll just keep it in the packaging for storage.

These gansai watercolors have an intensely brilliant shimmer compared to many of the metallic and pearlescent watercolors Ive had the opportunity to try. Superb watercolor binder and flow (reworking after its dried is no problem, as long as the paper will withstand it). Very glad to have gotten these and would recommend (but Im not a professional, so YMMV) The aqua watercolor is the 904 Champagne Gold. The purple, orange, & blue watercolor is 905 Light Gold the burgundy & teal watercolor is handmade inks with 902 Red Gold

For what they are, metallic watercolors, they are the best Ive used at this price point. More transparent than other metallic options (like paint markers) allows for overlay techniques and adding shine and details on top of other mediums like watercolor or pencil drawings. They have a strong metallic look to them when you move the paper under light, but transparent enough not to be a solid color. Not as good for pure gilding as a metallic marker might be, which is truly opaque.They layer with themselves okay, but not great, so if you really want a super solid metallic color that is solid no matter the angle of the paper, go with something else like metallic paint marker or metallic oil pencil. But if you want to add neat shimmer and gold effects without completely blocking out the drawing and details underneath, these are excellent for that.
