These are lovely watercolors. They really are. They perform well and they are highly pigmented with a high mica sparkle load. The pans are quite large, so you get a lot of color for your money. I love them. So why the lower rating? They come in a cardboard tray inside a cardboard box. The individual pans sit inside that cardboard tray and can easily fall out if not held level. The pans, because they are oversized, dont fit in any watercolor tin. So I would have to find another way to package and carry them or be content with using them only when painting in my studio. Im returning them and getting the Fine Tec mica watercolors which are very similar but have much better storage/packaging. Yes, the Fine Tec ones are twice as much, but that package is key for me. Id keep these if they had durable packaging that would allow you to travel with them.

Can’t say enough wonderful things about these metallic watercolors! Go on smoothly and shine, shine, shine! The metallic gel pens are no match for these! When you see the difference you will not go back to gel pens! Gorgeous! And so convenient to use! Packaged so conveniently and easy to use! I love, love, love them!

I’m just a cardmaking newbie but I love this metallic watercolor set. It works great for adding a small shiny touch to my cards. You can see the wonderful shiny sheen it gives off in the bear card photo. The only thing about Kuretake paints is that it comes in a thin card stock like tray instead of plastic or metal so I don’t like the packaging but the product is awesome! Highly recommend!

I use these primarily for hand lettering. I use several different brushes, but my favorite is the Pentel Aquash water brush. These are beautiful, glittery watercolors. I have already hit the pan on one of them. They blend with other watercolors beautifully. I have even used the white gold and mixed it with other colors to create a glittery version of that color. I will keep buying these every time I run out!

I purchased these after seeing a You Tube video where a card maker used them on her cards. She raved about them and I was impressed with them when she did a quick demonstration comparing them to other metallic paints. I purchased them , I could not help myself! And I tried them as soon as they were delivered! I was not disappointed! They are some of the most beautiful metallic paints I have ever used or owned! Just gorgeous!

Lovely product. Great pigment when the water is left on the surface of the paint for a minute or so to activate it. Metallic colours are vibrant and glittery.

I loved these! Ive added swatches of them (theyre the very bottom row of six, the rest on the page are the set of 36 which I highly recommend as well!) so you can see what they look like on paper. The variations between them are very subtle, but one of my favorite things to do is to add them to other colors to add a spark of iridescence. Ive used iridescent watercolor medium in the past, its tricky business trying to get just the right amount where it sparkles but not so much that it turns into a drag show on a Saturday night. My one tiny complaint is the light gold is really transparent; this is the best color to add to others to get that shimmer. White gold does have a bit of titanium white feel to it so it will show through a bit if you layer it over a darker color. The blue gold is... not very blue (the Bluish Gold #91 from the 36 color set is way more blue!) but its warm and pretty, great for accent. If youre looking for a nice set of metallics that wont break the bank and have some actual opacity to them, go for it! Just know that if you already have the 36 color set youll end up with an extra pan of #906 White Gold, but you can always find a use for it!

I just swatched mine today, and I’m in love. The individual pans are much bigger than I was expecting. Plus, the quality is really good! The individual colors range in opaqueness, but with two light layers, the ones that are less opaque even out. Overall, the opaqueness is awesome, though. In my picture, each word is written with only one light coat, for reference. These are well worth the money. I’m extremely happy with this purchase.

Used this to splatter ink on red yardstick for card making backgrounds. Absolutely beautiful!!

I love metallic Paints and Inks, and After seeing a review of team on a youtube I really wanted to add these to my collection and hopefully produce from good illustrations with them. The paint is thick enough to go over my Faber-castell without needing too much. This was after making a swatch on the test paper and the thumbnail for what I wanted to do.
