I loved these! Ive added swatches of them (theyre the very bottom row of six, the rest on the page are the set of 36 which I highly recommend as well!) so you can see what they look like on paper. The variations between them are very subtle, but one of my favorite things to do is to add them to other colors to add a spark of iridescence. Ive used iridescent watercolor medium in the past, its tricky business trying to get just the right amount where it sparkles but not so much that it turns into a drag show on a Saturday night. My one tiny complaint is the light gold is really transparent; this is the best color to add to others to get that shimmer. White gold does have a bit of titanium white feel to it so it will show through a bit if you layer it over a darker color. The blue gold is... not very blue (the Bluish Gold #91 from the 36 color set is way more blue!) but its warm and pretty, great for accent. If youre looking for a nice set of metallics that wont break the bank and have some actual opacity to them, go for it! Just know that if you already have the 36 color set youll end up with an extra pan of #906 White Gold, but you can always find a use for it!

These are wonderful! I use them mainly for watercolor and occasionally calligraphy. Very creamy without being too thick so its still easy to move around. The quality for the price is amazing. I would say only one color is weaker than the rest. It still gets 5 stars because the weak color is buildable so you can still make it look as good as the others, it just takes a little more work. Love these

Lovely product. Great pigment when the water is left on the surface of the paint for a minute or so to activate it. Metallic colours are vibrant and glittery.

These are very pretty! I would say that this set is more like a sheer pearl shimmer set, and is not very thick. Meaning you would need to do multiple layers if you wanted a really opaque sparkle effect. Good color choice, though the lightest color is more of a pearl white and not a silver. I suppose the name is white gold, but to my eye it looked more silver. I will need to look elsewhere for a true silver. The pans are large and easy to get paint from. I love the pan sizes of Japanese watercolors. This is a great set for the price! Ive swatched these on Strathmore black mixed media paper

Nice product! Worked well for my hand made holiday cards. It is pretty sheer at first but i was able to make it thicker. Only disappointment is that it is not in a metal or plastic storage container but I might have missed that in the description. I’ll just keep it in the packaging for storage.

Love these colors. I use the gold a lot, the copper is quite pretty, and the silver adds beautiful highlights. We pull them out every time at Ladies Paint Night. The girls are addicted. Spray to hydrate, and then let the paints dry naturally. Havent had any problems with this method.

The pigment itself is pretty good. I’m a beginner so I don’t have anything else to compare it to BUT if you want to venture yourself with some metallic shades and don’t want to splurge then this is a great option. The packaging is pretty bad —it’s cardboard (makes sense for the price) but what I’m not too comfortable with is the huge size of the wells. They are huge and not enough product on them (for such a big presentation). This makes it hard to carry them on a regular palette. Other than that I love them. Sparkly and in my opinion the “copper”-like tone and the darkest gold have a nice coverage to them.

Absolutely wonderful. Very pigmented metallics if used right - put a layer of water and let it soak in for about 15-20 minutes, after it has, it will seem squishy, but after adding more water immediately and using it, it turns out wonderful. They dry rather quickly, perform great, and Im definitely going to buy more of this brand. They look amazing to add a small or large touch to your watercolor paintings.

The watercolor pans are packaged in a open cardboard tray. No lid, no adhesive, no backing, just plopped in the tray. They fall right out of the tray if you tip the tray the wrong way. I havent used them yet but just based on the terrible packaging, I would certainly never buy this brand again!

I purchased these after seeing a You Tube video where a card maker used them on her cards. She raved about them and I was impressed with them when she did a quick demonstration comparing them to other metallic paints. I purchased them , I could not help myself! And I tried them as soon as they were delivered! I was not disappointed! They are some of the most beautiful metallic paints I have ever used or owned! Just gorgeous!
