Lego has come an awfully long way from when I was a child and I must admit that Im seriously impressed with direction that it has come. No longer do you get just the basic bricks and have to let your imagination do most of the work. Now the kits really do resemble what they are trying to. The Disney Frozen II themed Arendelle Castle is a three story castle. The front of which looks like a castle with the towers, flags, etc. and the back being open revealing an attic, bedroom replete with bed and a throne room allowing you to play with the included Frozen figurines. It doesnt stop with the castle however. You also get a small bakers stand, a royal dock replete with boat and a fishmongers stall where the fisherman can sell his catch. The figurines you get included in the set are Anna, Kristoff and Elsa but you also get a couple of birds that can sit on the window ledges of the castle or the fishmongers stall and a cat. Everything you need to let your childs imagination run riot. I must admit that I dont know that much about Frozen but my daughter is a huge fan and she couldnt wait to start building this playset. It is 521 pieces and takes a couple of hours to build but there is nothing that is very difficult about putting it together. The instruction are very clear and easy to follow. This is a great playset in its own right and also a great way to get your children interested in Lego. I played with Lego when I was a child and had some very fond memories of it (apart obviously from standing on the little square 4 bricks which I remember doing). Now my children are enjoying what I used (albeit with much more sophisticated sets). If your child likes Disney Frozen, Lego or both then you cant go wrong with this.

Even better than the Frozen Lego Duplo castle my kids got last month. This is much smaller in size than a Duplo and even the standard Lego size (pic 01). So, the fact that the small details look very much like the Frozen cartoon and the movable parts work (i.e., closet doors open & close, paint easel moves front & back) is impressive indeed. These details & especially the movable parts are what increases the fun factor for my kids. Their other block & even other Lego toys only have the appearance (i.e., doors, containers) but lack the usable function. Whats amazing too is how the structures (i.e., food stand, each storey of the castle, treasure chest) can stay intact when moving to another location (see pics 02-03). So, no need to rebuild each time. Overall building time took awhile because of the many pieces and structures. But so worth it, according to my kids. It was a team effort. My youngest help build the bigger pieces and my older ones the minute ones. A 5-star in their book. Superbly recommended.

I sent this to my 8 yr old granddaughter as a gift. She really enjoyed assembling it. And it was intended for a Mommy/daughter day but she did the majority of the building

For as much as you pay for legos, they should at least be very well designed. We’re less than impressed with the design of the castle because the upper 2 floors constantly want to come apart. It’s nice to have all the extra pieces, but for what you get it doesn’t look like $70...

My 9 year old put this whole thing together by herself and it kept her busy for a few hours. This set is beautiful, and they have some cool things, like doors that open up and beds that go up and down. Leave it to LEGO to think of even the little things to make it all more fun to play with. She had so much fun putting it together and it turned out great!
