This set is geared more toward older teenagers and AFOLs since it has some difficult steps, particularly on the second stage that would be challenging and frustrating for younger LEGO builders and as always, LEGO sets are not very forgiving of accidental part losses. I wish LEGO would pursue mire of these types of sets of NASA and other Spacecraft sets. I would like to see more with Russian, Chinese, British and French space craft. It is sad though that The LEGO Creator / LDD challenges always eliminate complicated ideas for sets especially when the parts count is high. For example, in Feb 2018 two people who had designed the complete launch tower for this model exceeded the 10,000 nominations to produce the set; but, LEGO turned the production of the set down. Just sad for AFOLs like myself. I would recommend this set. Nicely executed modeling of the Saturn V even though the building steps need to be refined and some steps resequenced to make it easier to build. It was a fun 16 hours of building time spread out over a week. Thank God, that LEGO now prints on the bricks instead of using the cheesey stick on decals.

The product was great...who can go wrong with Legos., but I payed an inflated price. These items should not be scalped just because of popularity.

Im struggling to recall the last time I purchased a Lego set this ambitious and it may have been over two decades ago. When I saw some videos of astronomy nerds I follow indulging in this set, I knew I had to have it. Im not Lego-opposed or unfamiliar with putting things together, but I have to say I was absolutely blown away by the apparent Quality Assurance that went into the overall EXPERIENCE of this set. Im not up to date on modern Lego - Im not an enthusiast - but everything from the manual, to the compartmentalized packages-in-steps of pieces was just perfect. Its no puzzle putting this thing together, daunting as it may seem with its nearly 2000 pieces. The instructions are clear, distinct, and delineated into clear stages of building. I was never (not once!) confused or lost while building this and each step was an absolute delight. There are no stickers or decals or any fussy touch-ups needed either: every decal on the final product is pre-printed directly onto a piece. So what of the finished product? Check for yourself, Im sure there are tons of photos on this very product listing. Its impressively detailed and quite striking in scale. I dont often splurge on this type of thing, but Lego Ideas sets are now 100% on my radar for future purchases if they all have this much care and attention put into their manufacture.

One of the best LEGO sets I have ever bought. Looks fantastic. Build is a bit repetitive, but it is basically a large cylinder with many symmetrical parts, so thats to be expected. Took about 5 hours to build. Very sturdy build, yet easy to separate the 3 stages of the rocket. If you are a LEGO and space geek, its a must for your collection!

What an awesome kit. I spent a full afternoon building it and now its sitting proudly in my living room. Its largest Lego kit I have ever purchased and for the price it is a great value.
